Collar or harness??? There are lots of great threads about walking today . I just had one more question. Tia is only 2 lbs and I would love to start walking her with a leash. Problem is I haven't found a harness that will fit her and I am afraid of using a collar. Any Advise? |

You can try buying a cat harness at petsmart or there are several people on here that can custom make harnesses and can make them really small for you. My yorkie is just barely under 3 lbs being full grown and when I first got her she was only 8 oz and I had to make harnesses for her becasue I couldnt find any. So I can make any of the harnesses on my website in Xtiny size for you: http://tinkerbellscloset.com/Browse_...s_Harness_Vest http://tinkerbellscloset.com/Browse_...arness_Dresses You definetly dont want to use a collar. My parents dog has trachea problems because my parents used to use a collar to walk him when he was young becasue they didnt know any better and he would always pull on it. |
Definitely use a harness. |
Nyx is too small for harnesses so I just order harnesses dresses and vests. Nyx has a whole lot of stuff from Shana's tinkerbell's closet, she gets wonderful comments all the time from people on her walks and in her puppy class. |
You could also try a ferret harness. |
I've heard that the Puppia Xsmall harness is a very small fit. If you do some of the searches on here, you can see what some people reviewed. Good luck on your search! :) |
I had a yorkie that was under 3 lbs . I used the xsmall harness from Petsmart. It worked fine you just have to adjust it to the smallest size. Ther eare a lot of sites on the internet that have really small ones also. |
harness all the way |
harness is my vote~ it pulls less stress on the neck - i didnt like that when snickers pulled it pretty much choked her she is more comfortable with her harness and so am i!! |
Mine all started with harnesses until they were trained to heel. Now one wears a collar and the other wears a gentle leader. My dachshund is only happy with a choke collar (the silly dog). Lisa |
I got my small harness from Barkindogs on ebay |
Yorkies have a very soft treack. Therefore you should never put a collar on a yorkie . Only harnesses. |
Harness all the way, collar only for id purposes even if they are microchipped.:) |
I could not find a harness for Gracie either. Connie custom made one for her and it fits great! I have 3 more since then and have NEVER been disappointed! It is a little harness vest with a D ring and they are AWESOME and the cost is very reasonable! |
