Sclera is a little red Hello, Our Yorkie (3 month old)'s sclera is a bit red all the time, does that mean that he is stressed or not sleeping well? We have to leave it alone at night (when we are sleeping) and daytime (while we are working). any advices would be great:) Sean & Megan |
Sclera - the white part of the eye??? It's not normal for a Yorkies eyes to look red. If there is any discharge or runny eyes I would suspect he has a bacterial infection of some kind, usually there nose will run too so he will need to go to the vet for an antibiotic. If there is no discharge from the eyes or nose I would suspect he is allergic to something he is rubbing his eyes on like his bed, blanket, or maybe he's getting something on his feet and then rubbing his eyes. You can flush his eyes with saline solution for contact wearers - never use Visine (not good for people either). |
