RoxyJo getting ready for surgery We took Roxy in for her initial check-up before getting spayed. Everything looks fine so far. 5.5 lbs. She will have 2 canines pulled since she currently has 4 on top. We take her in Thurs. AM and they will do her bloodwork right away. They if all is ok, they will go ahead and do the surgery. She has to have a sleep-over. Dr.'s orders. The good new - she won't have to wear a cone. They don't like to put them on little dogs. I read where some of you used Onesies. I think I'll try that. While we were in the waiting room, there was a lady with a little tiny Chi. Her name was Dixie and she didn't look much bigger than little Cali except she had longer legs. Her little bitty toenails were painted bright pink! She was adorable. Roxy couldn't figure out what her tail was? Very funny to watch. So, it's only Tuesday and we are already getting worried. No I know how all of you feel before your little ones go to surgery. We are gonna be a wreak before this is done. Wish us luck!:) |
I know we all go through this but it is so hard. She will be fine and it will be done with. |
We will all be thinking of you both. It will be fine I am sure. |
Wishing you the very, very best.:) |
I forgot to tell y'all, I asked the vet about all the grass eating since so many have questioned it. He said some dogs will graze like a cow. Absolutly will NOT hurt them. Let them eat it. :D |
Good luck on your surgery RoxyJo. I'm sure she will be just fine. It is still hard leaving them there. When I dropped Misha off, I walked out of the office with hubby, & just started crying. I was having separation anxiety. |
Thanks for the support, guys. I have left plenty of other pets at the vets for surgeries in the past, but I was never worried. But after being here at YT, and seeing all the things that can happen, now I am. I have always had mutts, and they have survived being run over, having babies on their own, even a gunshot wound by a high-powered rifle. I've never had a dog this little (except a daschund when I was a kid), so I am new to fragile dogs. I am sure she will come thru with flying colors, but I still can't help worrying. I am a natural born worryier.:) |
I know exactly how you feel! Chloe had her surgery today and she is also staying overnite! I feel very comfortable though b/c they want to keep an eye on her! She was spayed, two hernia's fixed and some baby teeth pulled! I am sure she isn't feeling too hot right now! Good luck to your and your baby!!!:ghug: |
Hi! It will be over before you know it! I felt the same....I'm new to fragile dogs too, and was extra worried about Mazie b/c she was barely two lbs. But everything went fine, and she barely acted sore afterwords. Maybe a little extra tired, but NOTHING like I was expecting! The healing was a breeze! She never bothered the stitches at all! Good luck to you, and your baby will be home soon! |
