people that leave pets in cars I was so mad the other day at petsmart here in lakewood wa someone had left a small dog in their suv with barely any windows down and it was over 80 degrees that day. I called the manager of the store and she was on her way out when this lady with a dog came out of the store. I asked her if that was her car and then I said it is too hot to leave a dog in the car, she said I was only in their 5 minutes, and I said well 5 minutes too long. I told she needs to give the dog to someone who will take care of it. She pi ed me off. This is the first thread I have ever written, I like this. |
I can't believe she took one dog in with her and left one in the car. People like that need to really think about their priorities. If I have shopping that I have to do, I will not take Kona or Bernie with me. It's night right to them. I will not risk their lives for a "5 minute shopping trip". |
That's good that you told her! Hopefully she won't do it again!! :thumbdown |
Don't hate me for this, but I have left my dogs in a car for a few minutes before. Of course, if it is warm or hot out, I always have the air conditioning running for them or the heater running if it is in the winter. I try not to take them with me if I am going into a store that they can't go into, but sometimes it is unavoidable and I will have them with me and have to stop at a store on the way. I would never ever leave them out in the hot sun, a car can get really hot really fast. It may have only been 80 outside, but cars get much hotter and it was probably more like 90 or 100 degrees or more in the car, especially with a car that has little to no air circulating. :thumbdown |
It's good you told her, and i hope she won't ever do it again! People should first try and feel what it feels like to be stuck in a hot car with windows shut, before they leave a dog in there! |
Good for you that may have embarressed her enough that she wont do it again |
I saw the same thing last week with 2 dogs left in a car and I called the police and animal control! I really dont know what people are thinking! (or not thinking). I wish the people came out because I would have given them a peice of my mind. |
What an idiot! Thing is, she could have taken the dog inside with her! |
I applaud you for speaking up:thumbup: She needed to be embarrassed or worse, possibly arrested for animal cruelty. Despite all of the news stories or dogs and children left in cars on hot days, this still happens. I don't understand what people can be thinking!?! |
Good for you. People need to be more like you. And people also need to take proper care of there animals. How would she like it if she was the one that was left in the car while it was hot out. |
This past week I saw someone that left their poodle in their car with the windows barely cracked and the car off while they went FOOD SHOPPING. I don't know about you, but food shopping takes me a good hour to do. When I walked by the car the dog started barking like crazy. I felt so bad for it. I'm sure there are some dogs that, behavior-wise, would do fine in a car alone. But my dog (and I'm guessing this dog too since it was barking so frantically) would be a complete wreck alone in a car even if it was temperature controlled. It's better IMO to leave them at home where they're comfy and cozy with all of their toys. |
This is one of my pet peeves too... If you are shopping leave your dog at home.. I think anyone who does this need to set in the car for about 30 mins to an hour with window cracked and see what they are putting the dog through. I came out of petco a few month back and the temp outside had to be in the high 90's.. a poor dog was barking, panting in a SUV with window cracked. I stayed in around to see if the owner came back to the car. I was just getting ready to call the cops when they came out. BOY.. did I give them a dirty look. It took all I had not to jump out and ask them WHAT the H*** are you thinking. |
check this out https://www.officialtvwebsite.com/au...4&refcode=actv i still don't condone people leaving their pets in vehicles at all they could get injured stolen and of course over heated! |
I can not stand it either. We went to walmart the other day and i could hear a dog yipping but never could find it. If I had, I was going to call the cops. Hubby kept telling me to calm down, but he agreed with me. He was worried about my blood pressure. At least it was one of the cooler days though that is not saying much here. |
Bravo to ANYONE doing ANYTHING to chastise these stupid inconsiderate numbskulls! I would encourage everyone to speak up. Even if the person flips or tells you off the discussion will stick and they might not do it again. |
