I can crochet enough to make a ruffle ball but that's it. But it's been a while since I did it. But for those who do crochet here's the pattern.

Pattern for ruffle ball:
Materials needed:
scissors
G crochet hook
bright colored 4 ply yarn

Chain (ch) 5
slip st to lst stitch
ch 1.....single crochet (sc) 3 x in each stitch (15 stitches)
slip stitch into last stitch ch 1
do 3 sc in each stitch around alternating 3 sc and 4 sc all the way around in each stitch
join with slip stitch
ch 2, double crochet in each stitch around...slip stitch and weave end....
Throw Ball for Puppies to run and Catch and Shake!!!!

I make these, although my pattern is a little different, and the yorkies love them! I sit at work and make them in my spare time. :D
I have given so many of them away. even changed the pattern to make them a little different.
I have them all over my house. they have their favorites too. I have a whole bag of them ready to go to a shelter or something. I haven't called them yet to see if they will take them.

and I have added another row to make it even tighter and bigger. I also have made them with a variety of colors (short left over scraps of yarn). also if you finish with a row of single crochet in a contrasting color it make them even prettier.
and........... even prettier with sc, chain,sc in same stitch for your final row.

Hi Denise, Do you also crochet doilies, there is a site that I love it has tons of things and one can maybe get an idea from it for outfits to make up on ones own, do you knit too?

Patti, thank you. I have taken many patterns off of that site in the past. and while there today, I took yet another one. I am going to need 3 life times to accomplish all that I want to do. :confused:
Knitting is one art I have been working on for 45 yrs and still have not mastered it. I have knitted a few things and I like the knitted look better than crochet but it goes too slow for me, I reckon. I just can't stick with it for some reason.
Doilies are few for me any more. I have a problem lately with carpel tunnel and it is hard to hold on to the smaller thread.
I also have a problem at sticking with a pattern. (I try to add my own changes).:yelrotflm

Oh Denise, I am so sorry about you having carpel tunnel, my mom had that and they operated on both, I recall how painful it was to her. Prayers that one day they will come up with something other than surgery to help for that. I know what you mean about needing three life times to accomplish all that we would like to do :) I am hoping that it won't be long and I will be able to get my ebay going or either have my own site on the net, would like to get back to making my wall clocks and painting, and also maybe doing the yorkie carriers like I made Cassie and now Baby Blessing and some other sewing but not pet items. We still are planning to move but not sure when.Thanks for the site that you posted. Have a real nice day. Patti

I'd been searching for some good patterns lately. Lizzie is going to need some sweaters for this winter and all her old ones are kind of ratty. She gets so cold! :p

Hi, Welcome to YT and what a cute name Lizzie. Our daughter and family just recently moved to NC they love it there, they have wished for us to move there. Hope that storm headed towards you all, will down size and won't be hitting there in the Carolina's and stay out away from the East Coast. We are watching the weather closely and we just heard it might :( Happy crocheting, do you knit? I noticed Jo Anns has some of the prettiest fluffy fabric that looks like the fun fur knitting yarns so anyone sewing could make up something that looks hand knitted. I even think I saw it at Wal Mart. I have to go to the city today and am always finding myself stopping at Jo Ann's Fabrics :) Patti

I'm really hoping the storm won't affect us too much as well. It's been stormy all yesterday afternoon and all of today. We needed some rain though so it's good as long as we don't get any worse. :p

I've done a little bit of knitting, but not too much. I mostly crochet as well as some sewing and embroidering. :D

I've crocheted quite a few hats for my dogs, and some sweaters. But I have been looking for some really warm and practical sweaters to make for Lizzie to wear in the winter because she really does stay cold a lot and I don't want her to spend all her time curled up in blankets just to stay warm! :o

well here i am again with changing the pattern! I didn't like the way the pattern went so I just looked at the picture and made it my way. I didn't add the belt buckle because I was afraid Ahia would roll over on it and jab her self. I added velcro instead. I made it while I was at work. I will make another and make it with the proper measurments. I took a picture with it on Tressie too. it is a little big for her but i will make her own.(smaller).
this pattern is really easy. most of it is done in single crochet. so any of you beginners can make it.
does it have the t-shirt and jeans look?

awwwwwwwwwwwwww too cute for words!!! I keep telling her she needs to look into selling her creations...she is great at this stuff!!! You should see the pretty Sunday School dresses she makes!

you guys are too kind......I could never make to sell, I get too bored with looking at the same pattern. I do one or 2 and am ready to move on to something else. LOL
we are going to ohio in Nov. and I needed to get started on making some warm clothing for these 4 sweeties. we dont have too much call for sweaters here. I sure hope it don't snow while we are there.

Talked with our daughter earlier, she said they have a lot of rain where they are in NC, they had a stream through the edge of their property but she said it is now like a river flowing through there and very rapid. They have tried to talk us into moving there, I don't think so :) Are you any where near Wilmington? How strong are the winds near you? they have such pretty knit fabric like the fun fur knits and so that would sew up and look almost like a hand knitted sweater. Do you have a Jo Ann's near you? I'm farther inland than like Wilmington, so it isn't that bad here. It's kind of gusty and the rain is sort of coming and going, but still not bad.

Yes, I shop at the Jo Ann's in Fayetteville and Cary. They have so much neat stuff and I always get lots of ideas for projects when I go in there. The hard part for me is finding the time to complete them all. :o
