Ears up or down? 3 Attachment(s) Seems like J.J is giving me a choice about how his ears should look like... LOL. When I got him at 8 weeks old his ears were nicely and closely shaved and plastered ('glued') to his head. I kept massaging them and had them clipped again after almost 2 weeks. The right one was already up (first pic), the left one took a few more days (second pic). He looked very cute. Now, shame to say but I've neglected the trim a bit and yesterday his right ear started flopping down....(third pic - but an old one). Today the left one is following LOL. Is it always going to be like that? I kinda like it with the ears down, saw a few dogs with nicely trimmed floppy ears. His fur grows like crazy and after a good combing he always looks like a baby lion... Even now, after that vet cut the hair from underneath his eyes... Is it normal? |
devoted to Lucy! I think he's gorgeous! Lucy's ears were floppy when I got her at 9 weeks and I didn't think they'd ever stand up! I shaved her ears with clippers in a "V" shape (there are instructions all over the internet and that's where I saw how to do it) and at 6 months hers suddenly started standing up. I guess they all do it when they're ready, but I think the floppies are cute! |
Aww dont worry teething causes the ears to flop. Some of mine have up ears and 2 of my girls have floppy ears. I love floppy ears although they tend to be more prone to wax and ear infections so i have heard :) |
1 Attachment(s) Piper being a morkie, sometimes her ears are up, most of the time they're down. |
My Wookie has floppy ears.. I let hair grow on his ears when he was a baby on purpose so they would stay floppy. I think they make him look like a puppy all the time.. And it's so cute, cause when he has that "confoooosed" face... one of them will go halfway up.. TOo cute! I personally prefer floppy because he looks like a puppy all the time. But pointy ears are cute too! |
I think their so cute while their ears are down now that my girls are both up even tho I like them up too, but they look so much more babier when their down to me. your baby is pretty all 3 ways, even with one up and one down. |
my male has floppy ears and my female has ears that are up. I like em both. |

AKC Standard is up. Most of the time a little help with the shaver and some tape and patience. They will stand up nicely. All my dogs ears stand even when I place my puppies, Their ears are standing up. Good luck |

I have one of each too! My female ears are down and my male ears are up. |
I like either I have only one that her ears doesn't stand all the other ones do. |
I think when they are teething their ears fall. I don't remember on Baby, but Juicy's fell and then went back up. She is 51/2 months now and they are up!! JJ is gorgeous!!! Love the pic's! |
Either way, your baby is too precious! :D |
He's a cute little guy. He is likely teething, Just keep them shaved and maybe tape but check every few days to see if they will stand on their own. If you don't care if they are floppy, then it is up to you which you would like to do. They likey will stand with a little help though if that is what you would like |
heh ya mine is 2 months and had the same issue after like 2 weeks of having him both his ears were up, before it was only one folded |
ears down 1 Attachment(s) I intentionally left Jeters fur on his ears long and unshaved. I loved the floppy ear look. Don't get me wrong, if they had stood up, I wouldn't have loved him any less. With a face like your little one has, you can't go wrong either way. |
