What I do for my furbabies! The last couple of days I have been out in the garden with my two youngest sons working on making sure everything is yorkie safe. I have been very moved by all the YT experiences of lost, stolen and injured little ones and I want to make sure that I do everything in my power to prevent anything from happening. My own run in with the groundhog made this priority number 1. SO.... I've been checking the fence. It doesn't take a scientist to realize that what works for a 100 lb dog doesn't necessarily secure a 7 lb dog but what a pup under 4 lbs is a whole nother matter! I've only recently started to let R&R have access to more of the garden having had them restricted to a small area to assist with housebreaking. Before I let them have access to more I wanted to put some wire fencing around the bottom of the wood fence. WELLL........ seems that I must have come into contact with poison ivy because I am COVERED in it this morning! I usually have an allergic reaction to the stuff so it may have only been a tiny bit but I am in for some trouble because it is on my arms, legs, truck, neck and ... on my face. My right arm and my face are starting to swell (par for the course...) and I feel yucky BUT...... I need to get some dog food! I was going to get it yesterday but was tired after being outside so I planned to go today instead. My kids had a training session down at the shore today and my husband left with them at 6:30 am and won't be back until after 6:00 pm.... so I HAVE TO GO because I used the last of the dry this morning for the puppies! So if you see a really ugly lady covered in creeping crud with her three yorkie's carrying bags of Innova Evo, puppy food and senior large dog breed food while trying to scratch every extremity at the same time - please don't laugh! ONLY for my furbabies would I go out looking like this (AND NO - NO PICTURES!) I can't take anything until after I get back as my medication affects my ability to drive! |
Well Done For taking precautions, you can never be too cautious when it comes to these little monkeys! What a good mummy you are. I hope you will soon be feeling better and itch free :) |
I feel sorry for you. That's awful. You're sooooo right. There isn't anything we WON'T do for them. I think they know it, too.:D Hope you recover quickly.:( |
awww, you poor thing! Sounds miserable. Maybe you can call your doctor Monday and ask for a round of Prednisone! |
I really sympathize with you, and forgive me for a little chuckle or two as I read your story. You poor thing, you must be so uncomfortable and look ….. Well, I won’t even imagine. Great jobs often come with sacrifice, but I am hoping that you feel better soon and all your efforts to protect the kids pays off! |
devoted to Lucy! Bless you! We really do give our all for our babies, don't we? I hope the poison ivy goes away quickly. My husband used to really suffer with it. I always got our Dr. to write a prescription for periactin for the itching! Good Luck! |
