bananas? Here I am, sitting at the computer and eating a banana... My puppy sits in front of me and looks at me like I'm eating the best sirloin LOL. I gave him a tiny piece, he ate it wow. And wanted another one... Are bananas ok for Yorkies? |
I give Chachi and Jewels bananas. Its the only fruit they will eat. Sometimes I mix it with yoqurt |
fruit wow, I didn't even know they'll eat other fruit as well. I know grapes are a no no. Are apples ok? |
Yes as long as you dont give them the seeds |
I looked in the health and diet forum for the list of foods to avoid. It seems like I saw another list somewhere that was more extensive... Anyone know? |

Kissie, my one year yorkie, likes bananas, apples and watermelon. In small quantities fruit is good for them, but with puppies you have to take care. |
Stump looooves Bananas. And Apples are okay, just no cores. My boyfriend had a Rottweiler Mix (from the pound) and she would eat whole apples, like 2 a day, until they found out the Core Contains some sort of poison. But she was okay from the apples. |
Hmm, haven't tried bananas yet. Hehe, Peanut is scared of watermelons cuz I roll them around the living room and he thinks they're alive when they're rocking back and forth as they settle. BUT, he lovesss eating them : ) He also likes eating peaches, mangos, and apples. (In small quantities of course) |
B-a-n-a-n-a-s! Yes mam! :D Stedman L-O-V-E-S Bananas!!! I've never seen a dog go as "BANANAS" for Banana's like Steddy does! LOL he thinks they are the yummiest!! :animal36 :aimeeyork |
Sammi loved bananas...I thought she was part monkey! :) |
Georgie loves bananas and I give him apples occasionally with no seeds and no skin. |
Both Chloe & Sissy love bananas, nectarine & peaches are favorites too.. and green beans, tomatoe & yams/nothing has effected their "bathroom" I thought it was odd, but Chloe had her first banana "tip" from my sister when she was 3 months old. She only got 2 tips per day. If I wanted an extra banana I used to hide in the bathroom. She knows the snap of the skin. No hiding from banana. Sissy came along and my sister never got to feed her banana but guess what, she shares Chloe's love of Banana:) is spell check not working tonight OR is it my computer? |
Sissy loves bananas, too. But she is picky as with all her foods. She only likes the really soft part on the very inside!! She also loves nectarines, mangos and papayas. |
Why are grapes such a no no? Is it because they could easily choke like children or is there other issues with them? Never given them to my dogs, just curious!! |

Check this site out for more foods you should not feed your pet :) http://www.peteducation.com/article....articleid=1030 |
Well now I feel awful! I HATE bananas and rarely have them in the house. The kids all eat bananas but they get them at all the sporting events they attend and/or take them immediately from the supermarket to their game with them. After reading all your posts I feel my furkids have been missing out! Off to bring in the bananas! |
Howie loves green apples chopped up in little bits... However, I don't like cleaning up what comes out of him after he eats them!!! |
confused.... I just had a look at the list of forbidden foods and seems like BABY FOOD and MILK AND OTHER DAIRY are a no no. But, on the other hand, I've read that giving cheese as snacks is OK and everybody seems to be feeding furbabies human baby food chicken/turkey sticks, especially when our picky eaters are giving us a hard time... Anyone able to solve the mystery? |

I'm sure some small pieces of a banana occasionally won't hurt a dog. BUT - my dogs hate them...... Carol Jean |
Maddie likes bananas. My two year old, Lexi, is crazy about them. We have to hide them from Lexi or she would eat one everyday. I give her a 1/2 one every three days. They mess with her bowels too much. We have given her a nickname due to bananas.... Monkey Butt. LOL We're not being mean... It just fits her. If we are at someones house and she walks in a see bananas she goes CRAZY!!! The joys of having a 2 year old. LOL Wouldnt change it for the world. So Maddie likes banana by mistake cause Lexi fed her a bite:p |
