I need some help...Please... Hi guys -- Within the next year or so I would like to get another Yorkie...I need some time to get over my Sammi, but I think in due time I will want another... I need to know (please)...What questions do I ask a potential breeder of yorkies/What kind of answers to those questions do i look for? What kind of tests should a good breeder preform on this breed? Where is the best place to look for a breeder with high breeding standards... My heart aches for Sammi and I will never replace her...But I want to do this 100% right if I do it again :( I do not want to go through this terrible pain of losing a dog at 2 because it is ill at birth and a vet didnt catch it... Love to you all Fran |
Awww, Fran. I'm sorry I don't have any real advice, but as you know you are in the right place...I'm sure with the help of all the wonderful and informed members here, you'll find your healthy little furbaby when you are ready. |
Devoted to Lucy Oh, Fran - you are so brave! I think I'd want to see the parents on-site and see if all the puppies are lively. The breeder I bought Lucy from gave me the name of the vet he used for all his animals and I talked to him. I thought that was nice info to have. Good luck to you. When you're ready, I pray that you'll find the perfect baby for you. Kim and Lucy:aimeeyork |
I pray that god leads you to the right baby!! |
Oh Fran, we have some GREAT breeders here on YT and I know they can help you with ALL the questions you should ask! Simon and Hallie were both rescued so I really don't know but I know that someone will lead you in the right direction. Kisses to Sophia~ |
Fran, I am so sorry about Sammi. When you are ready, I will do whatever I can to help. here's some links to finding a good breeder help sites http://members.tripod.com/antique_fcr/goodbreeder.html http://www.angelfire.com/nj2/training1/ethics.html http://www.dogplay.com/GettingDog/index.html |
Thank you all... Stacy - I appreciate you offering to help me when I am ready... XoXoXo Fran |
Fran, Cali has been a very unhealthy puppy from the get go and I will not take another Yorkie that has not had a bile acid test, complete blood work and free of LP. I will pay whatever I have to including paying for the tests so that I can ensure as healthy a puppy as possible. I would also probably want one that is 3-4 months old. I lost my last Yorkie at 6 1/2 to severe complications of Collapsed trachea. I know one day, and only you can say when that will be, you will share your great love with another Yorkie baby. It really does help mend your heart. |
big :hearts33: hugs right back atcha Fran..and a pile of puppy kisses from the crew. |
Fran I am so sorry to hear that Sammi didn't make it. When we lost our Sparky in January, we knew imediately that we had to have another. A new one will never replace the one you lost in your heart. Sammi took a tiny piece with her and nothing will bring that back, but it will help you to find her at Rainbow Bridge when the time comes. But a new one will fill the empty spaces in your day, and that is what you need. I hope you find another one soon. It sure made a difference in our lives when we got Ollie, and then Chachi. Having those guys has helped us to be able to talk about Sparky without feeling so empty. Now we can enjoy her memories while we enjoy our new little guys,. |
Fran, I have seen this site many times before, so I hope it helps you: http://www.shooterdog.com/alexfaq2.htm#FIND They say that YTCA can refer you to good breeders, too. You might check out their web site when you feel up to it. |
