Have you ever heard of such a thing?? Yesterday while walking Nikko I noticed the funniest thing. Nikko is afraid of grass!! I live in the city so most of my surroundings are cement and brick. We have a few trees on the block and they have little patches of grass around them. Nikko usually does his business near one but never steps on the grass. Yesterday we were walking on this block that has grassy patches near the curb and Nikko went over and lifted his leg over the grass and peed but totally avoided stepping in it. Out of curiosity I placed him on the grass and he bolted off like a madman. I tried coaxing him on the grass again and he layed down on the cement and refused to move. My little boy hates grass. Is this normal? Aren't dogs supposed to love running on the grass? Does this mean I can't take him to the park or anything? Do any other city dwelling YTers have this problem? |
I can't say that I've ever had that problem here!:D We don't have as much pavement as you do. |
1 Attachment(s) Misha & Piper are indoor babies. While out, Misha had to pee. I took her to an area of grass for her to pee & she wouldn't go. I finally had to put the pee pad down on the car floor. She than went. |
do not have that problem with my yorkies but i did have it with another dog.mhe now goes out on grass but if it is wet no way and we live in the country. keep trying. It is a cute little thing about your baby lol:) |
AWW poor Nikko. If I remember correctly Duchess was scared of grass when she was younger, but she soon got use to it, and now loves nothing better than running and rolling on it :) I would keep introducing him to the grass day by day, he'll love it in no time |

Wow, thats crazy! Ive never heard of a dog scared of grass. My dogs freak out over snow/ice outside because its something that only happens maybe once a year. So I guess it makes sense that he would be scared of it since he hasnt ever really seen it. Im sure you could get him used to it over time and be able to take him to parks. |
