VeryTINY victory with Gracie last night but at this point I will take anything I can! Ok we went to bed at 10:00. She started barking. I went out and sprayed her with the water. This basically went on oh every hour or every 2 hours but every time I sprayed her she stopped. Finally about 4:30 this morning she barked. I sprayed her. She quit. I sat there a few minutes and waited for her to be quiet. She got quiet so since she was not barking I took her out and took her outside. One quick pee. She didn't really need to go. So I brought her in and put the fleece blanket in her kennel. She whined a little but finally settled down and went to sleep and slept until 7:00. Good lord, pray for me. I don't know how much longer I can take this! |
my mom used to do that with us kids lol and i'm not kidding she learned it in a god obedience class and for some reason thought it woudl be good to use on us when we did things she didnt like lol my neighbor uses that method and swears by it... i myself havent we are going thru training classes again but good luck and let us know how it goes |
I am at my wit's' end. Something better work. Hubby says just put her crate outside on the porch. I'm like I don't want the neighbors to hate us and I can't do that in the winter. Last night was the first night I tried spraying her with the water. I sure got my cat to stay off the kitchen table! I hope it works. I can't get rid of her because I love her so much but I can't keep walking around like a Zombie either. I need my job! |
It sounds like a possible break through! Just be consistant and it'll pay off! |
I sincerely hope you are right Thors mama! |
I say put Hubby on the porch and your baby in the bed with you..but that's just me.;) |
Have you tried putting her next to your bed when you sleep, cover her up, and when she wines firmly hit the top of the crate and say' "QUIET" in a firm voice??? This has worked for all of mine. |
Yep she doesn't care. She starts right up again! She is one stubborn dog! |

Well when I got Gracie we agreed she would sleep in her kennel. My dog that is 12 years old doesn't even sleep on the bed with us. So so getting around that. Plus I worry she would pee on the bed. |
This worked for both of my girls. They both sleep in their crate they each have a soft toy and pillow, & blanket in it. They still wimpered so we gave them a night light and everything turned out great. They stopped. Now if they cry at night I get up take who ever is crying outside to go pee or poop and put who ever back to bed and I leave the room. Every thing then is good to go.;) Good Luck |
Starleono- same situation except when I put her back in she barks and barks and barks cause she wants out! |
I didn't know you were having trouble with Gracie sleeping at night! It's no fun going without sleep! Have you tried a radio with some music playing? How can a yorkie as tiny as Gracie be a little stinker? I just don't know what to say. I know when I want Maddie to quit barking, I shake a can with coins in it and she shuts up instantly. I wish I could be of some help! I want you to get sleep and keep your job!!! |
OH Connie. You have no idea! It just started this past week! Good Grief! My husband can't be tired he is a firefighter! On a lighter note the squeaky toy you sent her is now her favorite. She will even play fetch with it. |
