Gracie's big adventure!
 

I could not stand it anymore. I played hookie from work and took Gracie to the city park for a walk. It was her first time walking away from home. This is the park where I usually walk, but could not today due to a broken foot! We just kind of strolled along, stopping now and then to sit on a bench in the shade. She was the only "dog" there at the time. She really does not think she is a dog! The park has a big water fountain with water falls and ducks, lots of walking paths and lots of grass. I kept her off the grass just because she has not had all of her shots. That little squirt strutted almost all the way around the park, stopping and visiting with every person she saw. She was so excited, and had such a great time! She loves people, all people. Of course, everyone fell in love with her. I was a bit offended by the number of people who stopped to pet her without asking, but at least no one tried to pick her up. After that, I took her in with me to get my mail (a U.P.S. store). I had her in her Juicy bag, with her little head sticking out. Not a peep out of her and no one was aware she was even there. Then we got home, and she pigged out on a new pig ear and some Merrick's for dinner. She is now crashed with a big smile on her face. I just had to share a very fun day! :animal36

Playing hookie from work is always fun, but spending the whole day with your yorkie is heaven.....:)

Merlot and I haven't had a "hookie" day together in a long time. It's so much fun to spend quality time with your baby. Of course it's always great when they are so pooped by the time you get home that they go right to sleep!:animal36

:dogzzz: I love playing hookie and getting to spend some alone time with the furbaby!! Plus during the week there is a lot less people out. I bet she is pooped!!!!

LOL I know what you mean. I love the way they explore all around like they own the place! I've taken two weeks off to spend with my pooches. It's been glorious. They've been spoilt rotten with all the long walks. Roll on daylight savings when I don't gotta walk them in the dark!

TWO WEEKS! That's some serious hookie! Good for you! I swear my guys know when my days off are. They let me off easy during my work week because they know that's the way life is. But on my days off, they follow me around constantly. I can't drive to the post office without them demanding to go with me.

he he he. My two think all their christmasses have come at once. I just wish Dixie'd learn to use the cat flap so I don't have to get up and let her out in the morning. But at least I know that I can make a cup of coffee and head back to bed with the electric blanket on. Then D&D also get to come back to bed and warm up their cold tootsies under the covers. (It's so bad I know but there's nothing better than yorkie hot water bottles.)
