[QUOTE=Willow]My name is Alycia and I am the proud mommy to Autumn. She is a 5 1/2 pound yorkie. I am a pretty straight forward and honest person, so I will say I was a little nervous about joining at first. LOL I have had a bad experience with over the top gone to far rescue groups who are adamantly against breeding of any kind. I am not against rescue groups. I am against them badgering responsible breeders instead of sticking with actual neglect or abuse cases. I browsed the posts here and found that there was support for responsible breeders and I was quite impressed with how this community seems to be. :animal36 My Autumn is expecting her second litter in about 5 to 7 days. After this litter we plan to have her spayed as I think two litters is plenty for my baby. Now, I must confess, they are not pure bred yorkies, and I realize many people frown on that. Our problem when looking for a stud was there weren't any male yorkies comparable to her. My Father in law has a maltese the same size as our Autumn so we are having York-Tese. They turn out quite cute. We kept a girl from her first litter and we named her Gizmo. :aimeeyork Tomorrow Autumn is going to the Dogtor for her check up before her puppies arrive. I do have one question and that is has anyone had a yorkie deliver early? I just wondered if it was possible. Autumn went two days late with her first litter. She had three and we lost one. This time we think she is having atleast 5. We will see what the dogtor says tomorrow.:) 63 days gestation is on August 25.[/QUOTE Good Morning!! and :welcome4: !! you are going to love it here! Lots of good people with tons of info!! My Lillie came from a litter of 5 ( just got her Saturday!!) Mom is 4 1/2 lbs and Dad is 3 lbs. Mom delivered a week early  Only 2 puppies survived. The vet told the breeder that 5 puppies is a very large litter for a 4 1/2 lb dog and this could have been the reason she went early..Thankfully the 2 puppies that survived appear to be very healthy...I take Lillie to the Vet tonight for her puppy check... :congrats: and Good Luck on your up and coming furbabies..,...Gramma :hearts6: :cheer: :yorkietal :cheer: |
Well I was a little nervous when you mentioned the going before ten days would not having surviving puppies, but I checked with the site you provided and it came up with the same due date I did, August 25. So we are down to 9days and counting, so I am not as nervous since she is under the ten days. I am going to ask the vet this afternoon for sure to be safe about the going early though. Oh and the best part is, my vet lives 2 miles away so he will be close by if she has problems and I have his home number on speed dial. LOL |
Thanks, BLowry! Autumn's mom was 5 pounds, and when not expecting Autumn is 5 1/2 pounds. The father to Autumn's pup is 5lbs too. Autumns mom had five puppies several times. Right now I am just worried Autumn will get tired during the birth, but I have brand new cloths all laundered and waiting and am prepared to pull pups if I have to! Her last litter she had three and one was still born but the other two, Gizmo and Max, are thriving and spoiled! |
Welcome to YT!! :D :D |
Well I just asked FIL how much Snuggles weighs and he said at the vets last week he weighed 6 pounds so he is half a pound bigger than Autumn. |
