Miss Pee Pee Sabrina is three, I got her when she was two. She was housebroken, I was told. I have problems with this ever since I got her but recently it has become worse. I take her out often and she always "goes". But she will walk right by me and into another room and pee on the rug when the backdoor is open and she was just out. Last night she woke me up in the middle of the night and rang the bell on the door(learned to do this herself but suses it mostly to annoy me and NOT go out!) I got up to see if she needed to go out and turned on the light. She had already peed! She rang the bell after!! She knows she shouldn't do it, she shakes knowingly that she is in trouble and about to be yelled at. Can anybody help me!!!!! |

Have you ever limited the space she has access to? I mean, like using gates so that she has very limited access to areas she can soil. Have you taken her to a vet to verify that she has no kidney problems or urinary tract infection? Have you tried rewarding her with maybe a little piece of cheese or a small treat that she relishes when she rings the bell and does her business outside where she is supposed to? It has always worked for me. It is possible that you were told she was housebroken when in fact she was not. Do you clean the places she has urinated in the home with a proper stain and odor remover by soaking it all the way to the pad. Otherwise, she will still smell these spots and continue to go back to them. Just a few suggestions. Good luck. :) |
thats funny you called her miss pee pee lol |
I have tried everything. She is given treats, praised, gated and is healthy. It's something else. She is treated like a princess. :-) |

She can appear to be as healthy as they come and still have kidney issues. I don't think she is doing it deliberately. |
She could just be going through a phase. Maybe she's become confused for some reason. OR --you know, she IS a yorkie, is there any chance she could be wanting to get your attention. If she rings the bell, she knows you'll come. When I'm cuddling with one of my boys in the chair, the other will go to the window and bark like someone's there, He knows his brother will get out of my lap and go over to the window to see what's going on. He then promtly comes over to take his brother's place in my lap. Sneaky, but it works every time!!! Good Luck, be consistent. Don't give up on her. |
Have you tried putting a scented potty pad down? |
