Hi everyone!!

My name is Dawn and I am from Ontario, Canada.

I lost my cocker spaniel between Christmas and New Years Eve this past year and couldnt bring myself to try and replace my sweet Moocho by getting another cocker.

In March I met a wonderful woman who had a litter of Yorkie/Bichon puppies. Dad was a 4 pound Yorkie and mom was a 8 pound Bichon. Never in a million years could I picture myself without a spaniel, but when I saw the two remaining puppies in this litter I was in LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Darla is now 5 months old, born March 1st of this year. She has become my best friend, my shadow, my contant companion and she is super smart and loyal for her young age.

We visit the dog park regularly along with my common law Phil and his dog Sadie...who is a Boykin Spaniel.

I have just recently decided to start the hunt for a Yorkie. I know Darlas spirit is ALL YORKIE!! I have met sooo many Yorkies at the dog park and Darla is just like them..bouncy and loveable and courage as heck...a rotti in a teeny tiny body...lol

So I begin my seach for a Yorkie and hope you will walk through it with me..and together I hope to share and hear stories filled with LOVE...a Yorkie should be pictured in the dictionary with that word. No animal has touched my heart so deeply as Darla has...who'd a thunk a 3lbs dog could have such an impact in our lives???

Thank you for the warm welcome!! I love all of your avatar pics of your babies..I want to eat them all up...or just a little bite hehe...someone once said when I got Darla.."betcha cant have just one!!" BOY WERE THEY RIGHT!! I want them all!!

The lottery was at 42million last night and I had the money spent lol...I was going to start a rescue for yorkies, donate a couple mil to the spca...the list goes on!! But of course the money went to someone else lol oh well a girl can dream cant she!!

Baileysmom where abouts in Canada are you? Nice to meet a fellow Canadian on here!!

Aw, I love the belly shot! There are several yorkie-mixes here, and you're right, it isn't always so much about the "looks", as it is about the "spirit"!

I'm new to the yorkie world this year too, and I agree, there is just SOMETHING about them. I've always loved dogs, and we have ALL sorts of animals, but now that we've had yorkies, we just can't imagine ever NOT having one again!

ALL of your babies are so precious and special..dont ya wish we could all meet up with all our babies..wouldnt that be heaven!!

We live in Thompson, Manitoba, 750 km north of Winnipeg. i take it from your post about the "dog park" that you must live in or around TO. There are a few of us Canuks around- I know that the have even planned a yorkie meet in TO. 45 million... So I think it would be really cool to get tickets for all the Canadian YT'ers (skin and fur) and have one big Yorkie meet :cool:

Hi and :welcome4: to YT. I'm Suzi, owned by 2 yorkies - Gabby, who's 9 years young, and Gage, who will be 2 in October (and mother to 2 "skin" boys). You'll find tons of information and wonderful support here. Darla is precious!!! And can't blame you on the "wanting more" - I just wish I could have more than the 2 I have - would have a house full if I could:)

Welcome, I also had a cocker spaniel named Drake. He is gone now and I finally got my new baby boy, I love my Drake, but the love for baby Brusier is so special. I really cant explain in words what he means to me. My son is 17 and he says I love Brusier more than him. lol

Wow what wonderful responses!! I do not live in Toronto but in a tiny town of 900 about 4-5 hours from Toronto. I go to a dog park in a city about an hour from here called Sarnia. I would love to have more info about the meet up in TO though!! That sounds FUN!! Thank you to everyone who complimented on Darla..she is my furdaughter!! And bruisermom...my kids say that all the time tooooooooooooo!! I bought Darla a BoBo today at Petsmart and my son was like..."you buy Darla all kinds of toys and you never buy us any?? how much did that one cost mom?" pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese believe you me my kids are spoiled rotton...just a lil jealous of their baby "sister" lol
