Omg.. Cesar is awesome. He can train any dog to not do the bad habit it is doing. I would def. try and watch it sometime. |
I think it's a wonderful show and watch it when I can make time. |
It is an excellent show. He refally understands dogs and the importance of the pack and how they communicate. I have learned a lot from watching him and have used it on my dogs. Now they sit when we go to the door and wait for me to tell them it is OK to go in or out. They sit nicely and wait for their food. And all I had to do was to touch them and make the shhhhhttt sound to get them to stay back. Now I just make the sound if they need reminding. It's a great training tool. It is non physical. You just let them know through body language and mental projection that you are the boss, and that is it. |
you can watch some FREE video here - the videos are actual episodes http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/dogwhisperer/videoPreview.html
Thanks for the link! We don't get National Geographic, so I'll have to check those out! |

A 2 hour episode just finished. It's really a must even if you don't have a problem dog. It really helps you to understand how they think, and how we unintentionally cause our dogs to misbehave. He can take the most unruly, worst behaved dog ever and have them loving him up at the end of the show. |

Well, did you get it ??? |
Ebay Ebay has the complete 1st season for around 30 bucks. Is this a good deal? |
Totally agree, he is amazing! Just love his show. |
I just finished reading his book, Cesar's Way and I thought it was terrific. Certainly helped me understand dogs and their behaviour a lot better. The bad thing I came to realize after reading this book is my 7 lb Yorkie has been the leader of my household for almost 13 years! I always thought it was "cute" when Cidney would yap at me to take him for a walk or to give him his treat - what he was really doing was bossing me around becaue he was the pack leader and I was his follower. I have to admit, Cidney is a very bossy dog. After the book, I decided to be the pack leader. I picked up Cidney and told him I was the leader now and that his packleader duties were over, he could sit back and relax because I was taking over from now on. I swear he looked at me different all that evening but he is back to trying to boss me around and I am holding my ground - I take him for a walk when I want not when he wants and I give him a treat once he calms down and stops yapping at me for it. This works well with "calm assertive energy" very simple if you stick to it every single day. If you are not the pack leader, it is very natural for one of your dogs to assume that role. In a dogs world, its about the leader and the follower, and they live in the now, not the past or the future like we humans do. We make mistakes with dogs when we try to humanize them and assume they think like we do - ha, actally I think they are smarter in many ways, haha. Sorry if I just got too preachy. |
I saw one episode and I was so impressed with Cesar. I wonder if he is available to hire and for how much? Does anybody know? I would love for him to train my bugaboos. We are planning on hiring an animal behaviorlist to come and train Gizmo and Bella, b/c they keep bossing my fiance around. |
I love this show! |

me to anyone know ? |
I love him! Just this past week little Abbey started becoming extremely possesive over her flossie. If the cat or Katie, our toy poodle, even walked past her, she would growl and charge (all 2 pounds of her). Anyway, I used his method and "owned the flossie". There was almost an instant change in her behavior. There has only been one episode since then, and I took "control" of 'my flossie' and that was then end of it. I can put it down on the floor and she looks at me and when give her the ok, she will pick it up. I can take it away and give it to Katie or keep it or place it on the floor. She won't touch it until I give it to her. IMO, it just seems so much easier to address these issues immediately, and his method makes so much sense. Ellie |
I really enjoy his shows. Ziggy doesn't get the shhhtt noise...he thinks it's a new game. I tried to use it to make him quit barking. Anyway, the shows have a lot of good ideas. How many of you would allow your baby to go to his doggie boot camp? I've seen a little Chihuahua running with the pack. I'd be sick with worry if Ziggy was in there.:p |
He always amazes me when he rehabilitates a dog with serious problems. He's just got this way about him that the animals immediately respond to. I never miss his show. He's on here on Friday nights at 8PM and everything stops in my house while Cesar is on!:aimeeyork |
