Throwing up in carrier? Kiki and Mazie are almost always in their carrier when they ride in the car, and both have done a significant amount of shopping with me in them. But we've had two "throwing up in the carrier" incidents lately....and they've NEVER thrown up ANY other time or place! The first one was only days after Mazie's accident (blow to head), so I chalked it up to the concussion. But here the other day, one of them did it again. I'm not sure which one, b/c they were in there together....I'm just assuming Mazie again. Does anyone else's yorkie do this? Both incidences were after shopping trips with multiple stores where I carried them around instead of putting them in a buggy. I'm wondering if it's motion sickness from the extra rocking around? Is that possible? |
HI I think it is likely just a bit too much for them. I don't know what your summer heat is like right now even with air conditioning in the car and the malls it is a little to much for dogs to handle especially if you are carrying them around to the mall and within it. It might be better to leave them at home if it is a hot day. I am sure they will be fine once the weather cools off a bit. |
Oscar is an old pro now at being carried around in his celltei carrier - I take him to the mall with me and he's good to go for hours - popping his head out watching everyone - he's quite content. Ruthie has been going in the carrier and she's thrown up EVERY time - I KNOW it's the motion of the bag and she may never get used to it. I usually carry the bag on my shoulder so it ends up resting against my hip and moves when I walk - if I carry it by the handles which keeps it steadier, she seems to be ok. |
