ok here is the problem : at the beginning of July I moved to a new apartment and my mother came to visit so Royce was never really left alone in the new apartment, and mid july I took Royce to visit my family in Tunisia and for three weeks he was in a different environment ( surrounded by my family, our house has a big garden ) I came back to montreal to my new apartment last Sunday and Monday i went to work . By Friday I got a call from the manager of the building saying that he got complains from my neighbor the my dog was crying when i was at work .
Dogs are not allowed in my building but when i signed the lease the manager knew that i have a small yorkie but told me just be discreeet with the dog .
On my lease it's stated : "no dogs , no cats ". my neighbor next door has a cat . What should I do to make Royce not cry when I go to work ( im away for only 6 hrs ) . and what do you think of the manager position ? can he ask me to leave knowing that when i signed the lease he knew i have a dog and that many people im the building have cats ?

Try leaving on a radio or the TV...Try to sneak out so your pup doesn't see you... I am not a landlord nor am I a lawyer but IMO, if the lease states no dogs and no cats and somebody complains I would think he could make you get rid of him...even though he knew you had a small dog he never re-wrote the lease to say you could keep him...I feel this would be wrong for him to do this but IMO I feel he could...you wouldn't have any legal ground to stand on...Now on the flip side...If he made you get rid of you dog I would make sure that no one else in the building had an animal either...a lease is a lease..JMO.

I agree if he asks me to leave I would go to court against him and make sure that all the tenants that have cats leave as well . the law is applied to everyone not just me since on the lease it's written no dogs no cats .
He can't make me get rid of my yorkie but he can eventually ask me to cancel my lease .
