She gave me a panic attack!! So I was getting dressed for ballet class and I notice that I haven't seen Coco for like 4 minutes (which is a long time since she's attached to my hip). I start calling her..NOTHING...I entice her with the word TREAT and shake the bag (which normally gets her bolting out) and...NOTHING...I open the front door and pretend like I'm leaving and...NOTHING...So then I search her usual hiding places when she's scared, usually due to vaccum or ironing board. I didn't have either one of those so I didn't know where she was. I literally threw my bed with mattress to one side, along with my couches and tables and she was nowhere. Mind you a 1 bedroom apartment is NOT that big for her to be in a million different places. So I start panicking and hiperventillating, and can barely breath, as I'm crying calling for me. I suddenly think of the worse case scenario...That she fell over the balcony, which would be impossible since she's so small and the balcony is soooo high, but when you panic you don't pay attention to minor details. It's been over 40 minutes and I'm still searching while breathing into a bag. Suddenly I get really dizzy and can't breath and I'm shaking so I lay on the ground to catch my breath, and guess who's little eyes are staring at me?? I didn't know whether to hug her, kiss her or cry. That was the most scarriest 40 minutes of my life. Little Terd :p |
OMG Coco!! You naughty little girl!! Don't ever scare your poor mommy like that again!! Wow thank god you found her!! She was probably looking at you like, "Ha ha ha momma, you can't see meeeeeeeeee!!" |
awww .she was playing hide in seek with her mommy and you forgot ... bad mommy.... lol....glad she's ok. |
omg, 40 minutes is like forever. are you ok now ? that little bugger |
Yea I'm ok, thanks. I don't know if something scared her or she just wanted to go somewhere dark and sleep. But my screaming her name must have made her think she was in trouble so she didn't come out. I still don't know where she was originally hiding, because I had checked under the couch and she wasn't there. So she must have ran under the couch from somewhere..That little terd, I still get short of breath just thinking about it. |
 I'm so sorry you had to go through that but LOL, that's funny!:D Wonder where on earth she was all that time? |

I’ll tell ya, you told that story perfectly! I was riveted, heart pounding, thinking the worst imaginable, reliving some of my own scares as I read. It was so nice to laugh at the end knowing Coco’s safe, though are you? 40 minutes? Oh man that is a long time to be frantic. Glad it all worked out and you made us all laugh. Give lots of kisses to Coco. |
Coco thought Mommy was playing Hide and Go Seek! Glad she's safe! |

Lol, I bet Coco was looking at you like "hey momma what's wrong" |
wow, she must have a very good hiding place! Coco you better be good to your mommy!!! |
Haha I'm glad I was able to scare everyone and make you guys laugh. Yea it was the scariest 40 minutes of my life. I think I would have been calmer if I had a gun to my head being kidnapped. I have no idea where she was originally hiding but here is an idea of how scared I was, and how many places I searched: Under the couches-fav hiding spot under the bed-another fav under my dresser behind my dresser between my mattresses-I thought she might be caught in there IN my dresser drawers, cause she's so tiny In the closet, moved all of my clothes to make sure she wasn't down there tub barbage oven all kitchen cabinets toy chest balcony laundry room dishwasher crate bed sheets pile of clothes Table cabinets storage closets Over the balcony, outside Front door Ballet bag, or any luggage My house was upside down within less than 20 minutes. My couches were backwards, my table was turned over, my mattress was on the other side of my room. It's amazing how strong you become when you're scared. I have no idea where she was originally hiding because I lifted TWO couches, one on each arm, and she was NOT under either one. But somewhere between me screaming and crying for her, the little terd made a run to a new hiding location. Just knowing that I was hyperventilating while that little terd was running right past me, makes me laugh...well now I can laugh anyway  |
I would sometimes miss Kacee being at my side when she was a baby. More times than I can count I would find her shut in my closet.:D She's the only one I've ever had that ever did that, too! She'd go in there and go to sleep all of the time. Now she never goes in there. |
Coco usually only hides from the vaccuum or the ironing board. So who knows what scared her but my loud voice screaming for her probably didn't help. She probably thought she was in trouble or something. I never ever yell at her anyway so I don't know why should think that  Brat..lol |
OMG i'm glad she was ok we lost Boo for 25 min he was sleeping in a corner behind a table i know how you feel it is so scary glad you found her. |
Coco's Hide & Seek What a scare!! I thought only my Toy Poodle, Beau did things like that!! After I've found him, or he's come out from where ever he was, he gives me the "What are you so upset about?" look! Dogs - you gotta love 'em! |
How scary! Coco had her Superwoman Magic Invisible Suit on. :D I am so glad that all ended well. The person who said that dogs lower the heart rate never ever had this type of encounter! |
Whew! I'm glad you're both okay!! That's a long time to be panic-stricken! |

WOW, scared the bejeepers out of me. Glad you're both OK |
devoted to Lucy! Your story scared me to death! My Lucy disappeared on MOVING day about a month ago. I sent everyone outside thinking she had gotten out while furniture was coming in. I was crying and in a complete panic! I finally locked myself in the bathroom because I didn't want everyone to see me crying. My sister knocked and told me to open the door and when I did, she was holding Lucy! She had gone into MY bathroom and pulled my bathrobe with her. She was sound asleep (2 months old) on my robe behind a box and never knew I was desperately searching for her! I now have a babygate across my front porch in case she does "escape"!:eyetearss |
