Angry! Angry! Angry !!!!!!!!! If you have been following my threads, you'd kow I have a cleft baby Chi. 4 weeks old. Well while talking to my brother yesterday (who cares less about any animals - as most of my family is) He said why are you doing that anyways (feeding her, taking care of her) why don't you just let her go away, you know, doggy land or whereever theygo! I was so ticked! I called him an a-hole. My family just don't understand - nor do they respect my love for animals. I just want to say thanks to everyone on here for being here for me cuz I really don't have the support elsewhere!!! |
jerk. i could see if the baby was sick, but hes fighting. how could anyone just let him die??? |
I'd be fuming. I'm glad you stood up for yourself. |
Every family has jerks, piss on him. You are doing the right thing and your furbaby is lucky to have you. |
your brother is a moron, sorry, but thats just what he is,,, dont wanna say another word cause it wont be nice:mad:  |
Can I kick his a$$ for you? Maybe I can get rid of my anger and your anger at the same time. :) ;) |
Brothers are SO STUPID! Mine would say the same, they just dont get it! YOU are doing the right thing.... loves to that baby! d |
I'm sorry you aren't getting the support you need from your brother. It takes a very caring, loving person to care for a special needs furbaby. It's no different than caring for a special needs skinbaby. You wouldn't let your skinbaby just go off to babyland just because it required extra care. I lost one Maine Coon cat to diabeties and spent several years giving insulin shots to another Maine Coon. Just about everything we did revolved around vet trips, blood tests and 2Xday shots. But there was no way I was going to just let him go to kittyland because he was sick. So, I, for one, respect, support and admire you for giving your little baby the care and love he/she deserves. Keep up the good work and God Bless you both. |
Joker is my favorite cleft baby, though my heart always has room for more. I know it can be painful when friends and family don’t understand, but most if not all here, sure do! You just follow that big heart of yours and ignore as best you can all who can’t understand. You’re doing a brave and wonderful thing, be proud and stand tall and recognize your brother and family unfortunately dwarf your capacity for love and compassion. |
Just ignore him and keep on doing what you're doing.   We'll always be here for you. Remember your baby is on this earth for a reason. God sees what you're doing :) and He hears what your brother is saying. |
im just curious are these babies special needs 4 life??? how so?? |
that is awful for him to say. I tell ya there are so many people who just would not care. Your baby is lucky to have you. You know there are people who just do not have love for animals. Luckly I have alot of friends who have animals and love them as much as I love mine. |
your bother is a jerk!he had no right to say that. it take a stong person to take care of a special needs furbaby. {{hugs}} |
Thanks so much everyone! I'm trying my best! I love my brother but I don't agree with his beliefs. He just don't understand why I've put my life on hold to take care of her. Well, I brought her into this world and I plan to do everything I can for her! Its going on 5 weeks of feedings every 2 hours thru out the night. Working full time. Taking care of the mom and the other 3 babies. Taking care of my 3 cats, my other 3 dogs, my husband, my house, and my step son. Mountain Dew is keeping me going! :) I have not yet met anyone who cares about animals like me. Until now! and YT! Its just frustrating that they don't understand and think I'm crazy. Makes me mad:mad: |

Good question!!!! :) I'm learning every single day... |
Sweetie what you are doing is being a guardian angel to a little baby in need. Your brother should commend you for your generous and selfless behavior. I'm sorry you're not getting the support you need. But we're all here for you and I think what you're doing is amazing. |
tell him what if someone did that to you when you were alittle helpless baby ? they really should try and look at things through their eyes not just say whatever how rude! |

Tell your brother it's the same reason they didn't let him go to babyland when he was born. I just never understood people who don't love animals; seems to me there's something wrong with them. Good luck and keep us posted on the baby's progress. |
Alot of our friends and family don't understand the money we have into our little girls either. Misha just got her 2nd ear infection. Needless to say, the week after she got back from our ex groomer. Another Vet visit. A friend said (between Misha & Piper going to the Vet all the time I don't know why you don't get rid of them. You never want to go out anymore, & I can't imagine what you must be spending on them.) I told her I can't imagine what she must be spending going to clubs everynight, & I don't care & for her to do the same. |
I feel for you and I know how you feel. Because we breed Yorkies and have other animals in our home, my father won't visit us. He won't even come over and sit outside for a party even if I promise to keep the animals in the house rather than let them run the yard. My sister has stopped once or twice in the past year and that was only to pick my nephew who was visiting the puppies. My brother has only been over once in the past year and he won't even come in the house. Sad thing is they only live about 5 to 10 miles away. So my entire family is more or less the same way. I feel sad for them. They don't know what they are missing. My grandfather was an animal lover so I must get it from him. Terrance Ferragame |
WOW! Its sad isn't it. Some people just don't get it. They are "our" life and "kids". To them...just a DOG. My family hasn't pulled that yet BUT if we have a get together, I automaticly put the dogs in another room. WHY? I actually do it so their kids won't bother my "kids"! ha -ha. And they think I'm being conciderate of them! HA! I do give my mom credit though....she's not an animal person but she did help me with my little cleft baby for 2 weeks when I had to go back to work. And you know what??? I know for a fact she got attached because she had to come over just to see her, after they went away for a weekend. So maybe there's hope.....but not for my brother! |
Wow, that's pretty extreme and awful of him to say that! What if you had a special needs human child - I doubt he'd say something like that then. Some people just don't get it |
What your brother said was pure ignorance. How your YT family reacted made me smile:D . Nothing like an understanding bunch of people helping call your brother everything you want to and more:p . You keep up the great work and do what your heart tells you girl! |

He has 3 kids (my niece, and 2 nephews) whom I love dearly..... I did say to him...so if one of your kids get sick, are you going to put them to sleep? |
Your brother should respect your feelings and and be proud of who you are. You are a very special person to go through what you go through on a daily basis. Kids, furbabies, home, hubby, job! Good grief your as close to "SUPER WOMAN" as they come. Mountain Dew is very, very luck to have you. Poor baby, if he could talk he would tell you how much he loves you and thank you for taking such wonderful care of him. Your friends here on YT understand what you are going through. Vent anytime you feel the need. We're all behind you. |

(HEE-HEE I MEANT "MOUNTAIN DEW" THE POP... HEE HEE) |
Brothers are such a pain! But if mine ever said something like that to mean I would kick his a$$! I love my puppy more than I love any of my family, sadly because they also don't support my love for animals (which makes me furious) Well, at least at times like these you know you have a little yorkie who will always love you no matter what :) :aimeeyork |
I nominate you Woman Of The Year !!!!!!! I guess we should also nominate Mountain Dew as Beverage Of The Year for helping you do such an awesome job! |
