So sad..... I seriously am going to need therapy after this week. ALl of my babies go to their new homes on monday :-( I have been so tempted to not sell any of them but, I know I cannot keep 4 puppies. Do not be surprised if you see where I am looking for another baby. I have fallen head over heels with each puppy. Each one for a different reason. Every monring when I take them all out I sit out on my patio and watch them wrestle and play. This could go on for hours. They are so funny and cute. My daughter and her friends are not going to know what to do. They love them as much as I do,. I jsut hope that wherever they go someone loves them as much as I do. Gosh I feel like I am giving up a child. I will past some big dog pictures later. Bonnie |
aww i dont think i would be able to let them go either! good luck! |
Such a hard decision. I'm sure they are going to loving homes but I also feel your pain in letting them go. I think I would want to keep them all too. |
It must be very hard to give up something you've become so attached too. I am sure you have picked out wonderful loving homes for them. Be happy for their future with loving mommies and daddies. Perhaps you could stay intouch with their new owners until you feel more comfortable knowing that they are being loved and taken care of. Good luck. |
I know it is so sad to see them go, but what really helps me is remembering how excited and how badly I wanted mine. The new "parents" feel the same way and if you talked with and got to know them, then it helps make it better. |
It pains me to let my babies go to their new homes. They are like my children to me. Its impossible not to get attached to them. We only breed a couple of litters a year (some years we breed none) so we can spend time with each puppy to socialize it and be sure there are no issues. The current five we have are ready for new homes (two are sold) and its going to be difficult to let the others go. A good friend of ours and a long time breeder (over 25 years) lost a litter earlier this year. That would be about the most difficult thing I could imagine. Because they are like my children, I take extreme care in placing them. I'd GIVE them to a good home before I'd sell them to a poor one. Gotta love the babies. Terrance Ferragame |
I would feel the same way! Maybe you could ask the new parents to email you pics every once in a while. And, if their forever homes are in the area then you can always have play dates. I'm sure that the new moms and dads will quickly love them as much as you do! |
awe. its hard but just think four less puppies to clean up after, what will you do with all your time?? I know what Id do . lol be on here or nap. hahaha |
That is the very reason I had my furbabies "fixed" - I don't think I could part with their offspring! I love them too much and truly would have a houseful - if I could be guaranteed I wouldn't end up in divorce court..LOL! I'm so very grateful and thankful I have the 2 that I do! I admire people like you who breed because they love them and want to see someone else's heart filled with joy over a precious yorkie baby - I can only imagine what you, and other breeders, go through when the time has come to let them go! |
The homes we placed our puppies in are great. Owners have purchased items for my daughter while they have been on vacation. My daughter (she is 13) takes special interest in caring for the puppies and plans on being a Vet as an adult. My wife is a vet tech so my children have spent a lot of time at the vet hospital even witnessing surgeries and lending a hand in pet sitting, etc, etc. Owners also bring their puppies back to our home to care when they go on vacation and can not take their puppies with them. We would much rather have them with us rather than in a kennel somewhere. We get email and pictures from others. They will always be part of our family so we love getting updates. Its like when your children or grandchildren live to far away to see on a normal basis but you still love getting pics, phone calls and updates. Terrance Ferragame |
