How big do you think she will get? I was just curious on how big you all think Cally will get to be. She was 2.6lbs at 6 weeks; 3.4lbs at 10 weeks; and now 5lbs at just about 16 weeks. Her parents are 5.7 lbs dad and 6.3 mom. The breeder says that she will fall within 2lbs give or take within the parents rage. Now from what I've been reading on here some of the Yorkies grow to be much larger. So what do you all think? Her size doesn't matter to me as all of us are in love with her and to tell you the truth she looks really tiny for being 5lbs. Just wanted to get everyones input though.:) |
I would guess around 8lbs give or take |
She seems like she will be a big girl. Let me just tell you thought when I first got Ruby I too have to admit I wanted a teacup. I was always checking her wait etc..... I gave up after she turned to 5lbs . Now I can careless what her final weight is even if she where 80lbs. I actually feel stupid for doing this in the begging. With most respect , and not just because I own her, she has a better proportion body, babyface, coat and personality than most of the tinies I have seen here in town or nay other yorkie for that matter here in Modesto. This is not to say that there aren't tinies to die for out there. Lets not go to far and some members have some adorable, healthy , great looking ones here also. |
I too think she will be around 7 or 8 lbs. |
Here is a helpful chart that's supposed to be fairly accurate: http://yorkiepassion.com/growthchart.htm :) |
Why is it so important ? I am sure that her love for you will be bigger than her adult weight . |
I would guess about 8 or 9 lbs |
my vet stated 3 x the weight at 12 weeks and she was right on with kirby. his mom was 6lbs and father 5 lbs and kirby is 8lbs. i couldnt believe it but it was right on....you may be looking at a larger yorkie. kirby was less than 3 lbs at 16 wks. |
Double the weight at 12 weeks not 3 x |
She'll probably be about 10 pounds. It shouldn't matter, because all she asks of you is to love her with all of your heart and she doesn't care how big or little you are.;) |
I agree that she will more than likely be a bit bigger, 7-8 lbs. BUT, its so hard to tell, they all seem to grow so differently. My 5lb baby is only 7 months old & hasn't grown in 2 months, so yours may do the same thing. I'd be thrilled if he IS done growing.....but you just never know! |

I was just curious as I stated in my post..lol. She is my first Yorkie so I didn't know if she was just growing really quick or if she was gonna be over the breed standard. For the money that I paid I would have expected her to be within the breed standard, but like I said we all are in love with her here so it doesn't matter. It was just my curiousity that was getting the better of me so I thought that I'd post and see what you all thought. Thanks for those who responded :) |
Rylie at 7 weeks was 2.2lbs and now at 7 months she is 6.3 (that was taken 2weeks ago) If you look at her size tho she's small about 7inches above the ground. I think the 6.3lbs are all in her ears tho. (She has Dumbo size ears:D) |
I would say about 8 pounds, but it's not a Yorkie's weight that makes them a Yorkie. You will find they are a very special breed and will capture your heart no matter if they weigh 2 pounds or 10 pounds! |
