Do a search on here for Birthday cake recipes and you will find some. I have searched this before and found some |
Here ya go..K-9 birthday cake. I have made this and it was good I think, everyone except the birthday boy liked it!! 1 cup white or whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 cup peanut butter 1/4 cup cooking oil 1 cup shredded carrots 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/3 cup honey (optional) 1 egg Mix the dry ingredients. Add the remaining ingredients and mix quickly. Bake in a greased ring mold at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. You may frost this cake with low fat cottage cheese and decorate with some carrot pieces. Store in the refrigerator. (Dogs will eat this without the honey added) |
that was the same recipe that I made for Maddy (my granddoggy). it turned out really good and I puree'd cottage cheese in a blender to use as icing and decorate it with carrots. |
I have searched on YT and found several recipes and searched online and found tons too! Plus, there are bakeries where you can order them OR order kits to make your own. I asked around in my area (local bakeries, etc) if there were any "pet" bakeries, but no place around here.....darn! We do birthday parties for Mojo and one year, I just did a cup of doggie ice cream (put into a cupcake cup) and put a chewie stick (we use Nutro Lamb and Rice Sticks), cut in 1/2 in the middle - it looked like a cupcake. Us humans ate an icecream cake. Another year, we made Mojo a plate of food - hamburger/cheese/rice shaped into a bone (small amount), cooked carrots and apples (small amounts) and dog cookies/treats from the bakery part of PetCo. Us humans at a doggie shaped cake that resembled Mojo. This year, I am going to make (try to make) my own cake and doggie treats....okay, maybe I will just order it! |
Thanks for the recipe. I have been thinking about baking a doggie cake. My KC is turning 1 yr old in 2 weeks. I wasnt to sure if I should order it or bake it myself. I might have to test my baking skills before the actually day :p Just incase, does anyone know where to order dog cake from? |
HMMMM. I just might have to make one for Sadie this year. |
3 Attachment(s) I made one when Maddie turned two and they loved it. It is non-bake one. 1 can of wet dog food thin turkey or chicken can of cheese container that can be placed in freezer Press half of dog food in container place a layer of meat and cheese and than press remaining dog food on top cover and place in freezer. Take out of freezer about 3 hours before needed place in warm water and then filp onto plate. decorate as desired. I used two cans of dog food in the cake in the pic's. My four loved it and it is cute when you cut the cake because it looks like a real piece of cake. Hope I expalined it well, if not just pm me. |
