This is the weirdest thing...growing up I NEVER had any animals!! My mom doesnt really like animals so I guess it rubbed off on me until 2 christmas ago when visiting my fiances aunts house and watching her yorkie helen running around. That was the first time Ive ever petted an animal it was literally love at first site. So I thought and thought and begged the hubby to get a yorkie and finally he gave in. We bought lots of books and read so much info on theses little guys I felt I was ready:D When I told my fam and friends I was getting a dog everyone nearly fell to the ground:eek: they wouldnt beileve me. But now having James for the last week and a half they cant believe I let him kiss me on the lips and stuff like that. I love lil James to death and I couldnt imagine life without him. |
I've been a dog lover all of my life. :) |

I have been an animal lover since day one. I just love animals, all kinds, all breeds (or not breed), anything. I just know I can give them all good homes, but my husband keeps me grounded! I got Mojo (my first and only Yorkie) in June '04 - he was born in March '04, but had to wait for his weight to get up, but she did let me take him two weeks before we had planned! |
I guess I am the ODD ONE OUT... I became a "dog person" on June 1st 2005, the day we got Keeley.;) I have never really liked dogs, but my dh is a total dog lover and wanted a dog soooooooooooooooo bad. After 3 1/2 years of marriage he wore me down. We picked Keeley up from the breeder last June, in the car on the way home my Dh said, " I love wet cold dog noses, feel it." I felt it... Okay, it was wet... Yes, it was cold... And the puppy was sure cute, but I still didn't "get" the hype... Then Keeley puked all over me. And instead of making me want to turn around and take him back (like I would have thought it would have), it made me feel for this little tiny creature, scared and car sick. My heart melted, and I have been in :heart to love :heart to ever since. :p :p :p Not just in love, but ridiculously obsessed! ;) It is weird, going from a non dog lover to a dog lover, has seriously changed my life. I have become calmer, more compassionate, and happier since getting him. (Not that I was a beast before or anything). There is just something different about having a dog in your life.:animal-pa |
Seh0422, we have similar intrests!! That is great what you want to do and what you have done with your son!!  I have been a dog person, or rather animal person since the day I was born. My first words I ever spoke were not mommy and daddy but kitty and puppy!!:p I love all animals, I can't stand spiders, scorpions or anything in that category, but all else I love. Since I was very young, I always knew what my career would be and I am not pursuing that career. I am going to school for my associate's degree (vet tech) and from there will continue on to get my bachelor's degree(veternarian). What is so great is that while not my whole family are animal lovers, that all understand or respect the way I feel and I have always had atleast one dog and a one cat my whole life. I just could not imagine life without them!!! |
I have always be an animal lover. :D :D :D |
When I was a few years old my parents bought me a german shephard and I grew very attached to him. Since then I have always had a dog. He passed away when I was 16 then my parents got a yorkie. Right after I got married we lived about 6 months without pets and it killed me. We went out and got Tilly. |
Let's see....I had a german shepard names Sarge as a little girl, but we moved & had to give him away. Then it was onto miniture snauzers (sp?) growing up. They were Shultzy, Gunther, Siegman, Ludwig, & Keiser. They all lived long healthy lives, but are all gone now. When I 'grew up' and was out on my own I had a lab/chesapeake retriever mix for about a year that I had to give up because he simply outgrew the tiny house & yard I had at the time (yes, I should have known better, but I gave him to a friend who had a farm) Then, I rescued an about 4 yr old mutt who looked like Benji, but was named Allie. I think she had been beaten before I got her & in the year and 1/2 that I had her, I couldn't get her over her fear which was not good b/c I have a child. Unfortunately, I had to find her a home also. Now I have Snickers, my yorkie, & he is the love of my life. But don't worry, nothing would ever make me find him another home!! He is very very spoiled & loved! |
Let's see...how old am I now...? Oh yeah, all my life.:) |

:Puppy2: :hearts-xx All my life. They fill you with so much love a person could never understand you the way a dog can :) |
The funny thing is that as a kid, I was always terrified of dogs. It started when my cousin's great dane jumped on me and scratched my face with her paws. I remember crying and running away from any dog I saw after that, so I never actually wanted a dog until I was around 10. Now, I love dogs and as I look back, it seems silly for me to ever have been afraid of them. :animal36 |
all my life ive been a dog lover :D |
