YT Newbie Experience, what was yours! What was your funniest newbie experience? I know for me, like a fool, I didn't read the posting rules, and I was so eager to jump into the whole Yorkie Talk experience, that I made A LOT of YT boo boo's:exclaim: I remember I didn't know how to start a new thread, so I would just go to someone else's thread and post something random. Looking back, that was so rude and mostly embarassing:eek:, but I didn't know any better . I also remember when I posted pictures of my Tucker on someone elses thread:eek:, and then stated something to the effect of "Isn't he cute". UHHH! Horrible!!! I know a lot of you were prob. thinking, "Yeah he's cute, but why are you posting his picture in the items for sale or wanted section":questione :questione . It also took me almost 2 weeks and the help of a family memeber to make my avator, which did, and still is horrible anyway! LOL . Now I can laugh at these things, but at the time I wanted to curl up in a ball and die:confuse8: . Anywho, what were some of your past "boo boo's"   as a yorkie talk newbie? |
Oh! I forgot to add. Even though there were a lot of "uncomfortable" moments as a YT newbie, If I had to do it over, I wouldn't change anything:p :D ! |
Your story is funny. If I was quilty of anything when I was a newbie it was posting too much personal things about myself. |
hm. I can't really think of anything right now. but I HATE going back and reading my old posts, so embarassing! |
Probaby everything I am doing is wrong but I am trying to figure it all out. Ha ha. Hopefully I get it right soon. I guess the avatar is your picture so now Ill have to figure that out. |
Great thread idea. One thing I was terrified about doing was making such a dumb statement that everyone would gang up on me. I'd seen that happen a couple times, and I was afraid of being ostracized because I really enjoyed YT. Well, one day there was a sports trivia question going around that a couple women answered correctly. I felt dumb because it was a question about Michael Jordan that I should have known. I made a post that went something like, "I can't believe you girls knew it when I didn't." Well, one woman, rightfully, answered back "YOU GIRLS? What does sex have to do about being able to answer a trivia question?" Or something like that. I read her post while at work and was mortified. Someone was calling me out for being sexist. And she was right! But I was terribly busy at work and couldn't go back on and apologize. I had visions all night of everyone on YT agreeing with this person that I was a horrible male sexist pig who should be banned from YT forever. I got off work at 1 a.m., raced home to my laptop and discovered no one else had caught my masculine faux paux. I apologized and, mercifully, was forgiven. YT has been good for me. I've made a couple other sexist statements and been called out every time. I'm learning. All men should have the benefit of chatting with thousands of women on a forum. We might all grow up. |
LOLOL !!!!!!! These are funny:thumbup:   The only thing I can remember being mortified about is I made an Avatar for Jen - and had others waiting - and ADDED THE WRONG PICTURES to hers ....She never said a WORD to me and it was a few days later that I realized my huge mistake. Man - did I feel like a moron...... I also have to laugh at reading some of my old posts.....:D |

Well, I know I did and said some things stupid and probably still do. I know last night I posted something about the wrong person. lol. I knew one started the thread about her yorki having surgery yesterday. I was looking at the last post reply to it and posted it about the wrong name. LOL. It was yorkieusa and It should of been about llggood. So dont feel bad at all, I've been here since march. I do have one thing I wonder sometimes about. Sometimes I feel that people here think, why does she reply to so many other post and then I feel bad and think well I'm just gonna quit answering and just reading, but I am friendly. When I look back sometimes my name is the last reply for a long time to several post and I think wow, once I post a reply everybody else kinda quits and it makes me feel embarrassed. But here I am posting another reply to another post. ha. so if everyone quits replying to this post. I'm gonna just quit coming and reading all these post, but I love it. |
My first experience, was horrible. I asked a question about breeding and got slammed. Fortunately a few kind people PM'd me and told me to ignore the slammers. I did, and I'm glad I did, there are some very nice people on here. But man that was not my first impression. I have since learned that the nasty, opinionated, know-it-alls don't usually stick arund long. |

Hey, I feel that way too sometimes. |
Bama Yorkie Mom ...that happens to All of us - a thread has to end somewhere - believe me - I am the last poster on plenty of threads - you just learn to move on the the next and not take it personally like you killed the thread LOL |
I made a post about this puppy I saw, and people slammed me too! Sheesh people, they deserve a loving family too! Then someone said for my dog not to walk on the floors of dog stores! Zoey wears goobys everywhere she goes b/c it's so hot! It was nuts. |
