Harness or Collar??? Hello I was fixin' up little tips on dos & don'ts of Yorkies to the send with my babies when they go to their forever homes. I was wondering about collars or Harness? What & why do U all think for each...The good and bad...I know collars can cause them to have collapsed trachs can't they? I would just like to put ideas for the new parents so they will have something to go by & not have all these questions I had when I bought my babies! Everybody tells me do not use a collar on any toy puppies. As it is harder on the trachea. not just yorkies. other links i've read say all toys. |
i use both collars for tags and harness to walk them |

harnesses all the way, the only way to go |
Sadie wears a collar all the time but anytime her leash goes on, so does her harness. |
Harnesses! |
Only a harness for the leash!!!! |
collars are fine if you want to put their tags on them or get those cute ones, but a harness is a must for attaching a leash - this should be the case for ALL dogs, not just toy breeds. |

Definetly harnesses! Collars can really damage a dogs neck area- my parents dog has the collapsed trachea problems. I tell everyone only use collars for decorative purpose and for tags. And I dont recommend collars for puppies becasue Ive heard too many horror stories about puppie's collars getting caught on thier pens or on something else and them choking so I strongly recommend harnesses to everyone!:) |
I attach their tags on their harnesses. But they NEVER leave my sight so I don't leave a collar on them at all. |
as do I :) Quote:
