Getting old and spending time with Haruka in CA :)
 

I am old now. I am 30. I am 30 yrs and 2 days old. Depressing but also exciting.

I am in Sacramento now with Haruka, and ready to leave for San Francisco this afternoon to hit several pooch stores. I already printed out a lot of information about these stores. I am so excited.

The funny thing is that I want to buy things for Haruka but not for me. Well.. it could be for both of us. This year's birthday I decided to treat myself and buy an another celltei bag. I am gonna order that as soon as I return to Boston. My dearest friend sent me a gift certificate from celltei. She knows me well. Then I probably buy a couple things in SFO for Haruka. I am not interested in getting Tiffany neckless or nice clothes but some pooch stuff...

I am so glad that I have Haruka on my birthday even I think pet fee for airlines and hotels are ridiculously expensive. See... I was feeling kinda down about hitting 30 and yet being single (with committed relationship though) and not having any children, but I sorta do have a child now. She is just so charming and loving. I think Haruka came to my life in the great timing.

She was very good on the plane (long flight) and doing well with peepad :) It is just so hot over here and she is drinking water :)

Better than the alternative.....

Glad to hear she is doing well and that you are going shopping.... cant go wrong there. 30 is still very young. I just hit 35 this year and it about killed me. LOL Give it time, things will all come around when its time!:) :)

Happy birthday Michiko. I know it is easy to say, but 30 isn't old. Heck, I'm going to turn 45 in 33 days and most days I don't feel old yet. Enjoy little Haruka. Many of us here have them either since we don't have children yet, or our children are grown and are moving on!! Hands down the best substitute I can think of!!!

Have fun shopping for Haruka. Make sure you post some photos of her sporting all her new stuff!!!! Enjoy your trip.

I turned 44 this year, celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary in April and am expecting my first grandchild (hopefully next week). And you think you feel old.

I am kind of excited to be going into the delivery room with my daughter. Thank god they have epidurals now or I don't think I could handle it.

30 is soooooo young. Enjoy yourself in San Francisco.

Haven't you guys heard? 30 is the new 20!

I am glad the two of you are enjoying each other's company. Most of the time, I would much rather just spend time with my pooches...:rolleyes: Glad all is well...I was wondering where you'd been and when we'd be hearing from you again.:)

So happy you are enjoying her so much, and shoot yeah girl, TREAT YOURSELF for that birthday!

Tell SF I said 'Hi'! It's where I had my first date with my husband and it was just PERFECT. There is a really nice dinner show at 'Teatro Zinzanni' I can highly recommend.

About your age: I'm 30 too... and 365 months :D :D still young at heart and I can tell you getting older is something you share with absolutely everybody. Also you have time to get used to it, one day at a time. My Grandfather used to say:" If you don't like to get old, you have to die young!"

Enjoy your journey and give Haruka a big cuddle hug from Mitzi. :)

Happy Birthday my dear friend!!! Sorry I didn't get to post a Happy Birthday thread but as you know I have been having computer problems!!! You know how old I am so I can't sympathize with turning 30!!lol I am so glad you are enjoying SF! By the way you would be so proud of me I took Cali with me to visit my Daughter's college and we spent hours sitting outside and she did great!!!

Thanks for nice messages, everyone! Ya I know I haven't posted much these days, but I am glad to see people still remember me :D :D :D

San Francisco is great. So many nice boutiques for dogs but we came out empty handed oops but some treat.

We went to "George" and there was nothing particular we wanted to buy, so we got some treat. Then the owner said, "you can take it". So we got it for free. That was very nice.

We also went to a place called "Bella and Daisy" or something like that. It was crazy nice store. They serve wine with cheese and crackers for human and dog treats for dogs. It seems like they have parties there often too.

Walking around San Francisco with my bf and Haruka was great. It was a bit cold there... so we bought sweatshirts and Haruka snuggled inside :)

Today we are gonna go to SFO again and visit my friend's restaurant in San Jose. It is gonna be an another fun day.

Patti: I am proud of you. It is fun to take her out, isn't it? See... since your computer wasn't working (ya ya ya :D) I had to post about my own birthday :D :D :D old old old.. I am so old!!!

I asked my client's child how old he thinks Haruka and I are.

Haruka "5 days old"
Michiko "12 years old"

He is actually 7 yr old and he thought I were 12????????????????????????

Well, here's what I have to say about turning 30:

My brother is 8 years older than me. When he turned 30, I thought he was OLD and threw him an "over the hill party".:D

On my own 30th birthday, I know longer so the humor in that...:(

This year, when I turned 40 :eek: (okay, that one bummed me out a bit), my husband bought me a Happy 80th Birthday card. He said it was to help me realize 40 wasn't so bad. I still don't see the humor in that :rolleyes:

Anyway, I know it sounds trite, but you are truly only as old as you feel (and I've never felt as old as I thought I should).

Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! And my piece of advice:

Have someone take lots of pics of you, even if you don't want them to. In ten years you'll look at those pics and say "wow! I looked good!"

You're only 30 once. Enjoy...

You should come visit me and Keelie... we're really close to San Francisco, and she could us a playdate. You know... get rid of all that excess energy she uses to bark all day. :p
