What is the best way to get rid of pee smell in a room that has tile flooring. I think my laundry room is starting to smell that and I just hate it     . . . both my furbabies go on the pad but my boy often does not hit the mark  . . . lately I have been cleaning the floor with water and a few drops of Ammonia but it does not look like it is helping at all. Of course, I also think that the pee pad when pee'd on gives out that smell, but I could be wrong . . . Can anyone help  |
hmmm,,, try vinegar, that take the smell away... i usuall put vinegar in a bowl and put it whereever the pads are, and no smell... actually i put around the whole house, takes away all smells... |
I agree, vinegar and a water mixture should do the trick! |

The ammonia could be contributing to the smell. All the "books" say that you should not use ammonia because it will not take away the pee smell. It will, in fact, attract the dogs to pee in those spots. You can either use the vinegar and water or odor neutralizer like Simple Solution or Nature's Miracle. Both you can get at Petsmart or Petco. |
As far as putting vinegar all around the house. We have 1 yorkie, 2 cats, 4 kids and a daycare. So lots of smells! Do I just put some of the vinegar in bowls and it attracts the odors? |

i do this: for when they pee on the floors, carpet. water.,vinegar, simple solution.. mixture all together in a spray bottle for around the house straight white vinegar in a bowl... when it evaporates fill up again. |
I mix mine about half or 2/3 vinegar and other 1/2 or 1/3 water , i even add a spoon or so of baking soda in mine in a spray bottle . make sure you are over a sink when you put the soda in as it makes it boil over. Soda is suppose to be a good odor absorber. Soon as my pup pees I wipe it up with paper towel. then I spray with my mixture and soak that up while I rub it a little bit . Then if its on my carpet, I do the same thing but after I let the vinegar sit a few minutes I take a take paper towel and soak all i can up. I have some no vac carpet foam for pet stain and odor. I spray a little of that on it and let it dry. Then just wait till I vacuum my house and vacuum and if I see a dark spot i will spray the no vac on it and rub it with a damp paper towel and usually it removes the spot and it smells so good. if you spray this on your carpet just before you vacuum then get down and smell it you will see. I tried it just to see if it did smell good and it does. you dont smell vinegar in your carpet either. I buy mine at dollar general when I go there for some of my house cleaning supplies and its in a blue can . Says no vac foam and has a picture of a cat and dog and says pet odor neutralizer. Anyway, my pets do NOT go back to the same places. It really helped me with Kizzy. |

I would do a vinegar water solution, then a bleach water solution on the tile. The bleach just makes it smell fresh, I love bleach! But, it isn't for everyone. I use it, and sometimes, it reacts with left over pee (and starts fizzing like a science project volcano). It is the ammonia doesn't mix with bleach thing. |
what about bleach? mops the floors with a little bit of bleach in very hot water? |
