As a breed of small yorkies, usually ranging from 3.5 to 5 pounds full grown but not breed for the small size, daddy just throws small babies, I have asked permission to reprint Mazie's story on my website as I am also tired of those looking for and wanting only the teeny tiny teacups. They are absolutely adorable, there is no question about that, however, the smallest thing can produce a disaster. I realize there are many success stories for the wee ones, BUT, things can happen when you least expect it. Mazie's story is one of those and an important one for anyone looking for a small dog. I challenge all breeders on YT to include Mazie's story on their website. And if I come across any more horror stories about teacups, I intend to include them on my website also, with permission to reprint from the author. I am so pleased Mazie is doing well. May she live a long and healthy life. |
Thank you! She's been very lucky so far to get a clean bill of health and fitness from the vet(s), has never had a seizure of any kind, etc, and FINGERS CROSSED that this continues throughout her life! I appreciate everyone's replies. I didn't expect this story to be quite so embraced, but I do hope it HELPS get the message out there! |
(sorry....double post!) |
Thank you for sharing your experience of owning a tiny. Hopefully, some who think they want one will reconsider. I don't breed for little ones like that but had one that I gave to a friend of mine for free. She loves her dearly and was well aware of what she was getting into. The little one is doing well, adult only home, and they are soooo careful with her. I also get people contacting me wanting tinies and I keep telling them not a good idea and why. Some do heed my warning, others don't. |
I have heard your plea and thank you for your story , it brought tears to my eyes My 5 pound baby got in a sticker bush this sunday and because of her tiny lillte body she was covered, her eyes where covered and stuck shut it scared me so much. she is ok all stickers are gone. vet says her eyes are ok too so i now know what you mean they are tiny enough already!!! |
