It's kind of wrong on their part to not tell you about less expensive options BEFORE doing the procedure. God forbid you have to take one of them their for an emergency visit. Who knows what they will charge you. Personally, I think I would look around for another vet. |

These prices look pretty good to me. NY prices are ridiculous. Neutered: 185.00 Fecal testing: 28.00 Office visit: 65.00 Frontline: 42.00 ( I could not believe it, store is 32.00, next time I will purchase it from the store, had no idea he would tack on 10.00) ER after hours: 125.00 just to walk in the door! I lost track of the shots. Would love another pup but just can't afford it! |

We have a great vet. Punkin spent a whole day there to be sedated and have her ears flushed out, glad checked and her rash checked. We also got ear drops for her and the bill was only $50 something and the eardrops were half of the bill. |

Adie is only 12 weeks old (tomorrow) so I don't know what the charges are going to be in the future but my vet charged me $150.00 for a "Puppy Package" It includes office visits for the first 6 months, all of her shots and worming and even food if I want to get it there. It doesn't cover non-routine puppy stuff. If she gets sick then I have to pay for those services. It costs $8.00 for me to get my shih tzu's nails trimmed and I just had her and the shepherd in for their annual heartworm test and a shot for each of them. I also bought a 6-month supply of Heartguard and Frontline for each of them. That cost me nearly $400.00. I don't think your vet is that much different from mine and I have been with her for years. He prices have simply gone up through the years. We were strapped for cash a couple of years ago and Or shepherd came down with an infected anal gland (yuck) She treated him for free and sold us the medication at cost. She isn't out to hurt anyone but needs to cover her own expenses. Hope this helps. Happy weekaversary Adie! |
Ahhhhh!! I remember it! I remember it!:yay_jump: Dr. John Hammons! I knew I thought there was something funny about his name (that was the name of the guy in the Jurrasic Park movies). He's actually in Athens, AL. :( Here is his web site: http://tcah.info/ :) |
