Hair clipping near the eyes??? Hi everyone!! Do you all clip the hair that grows by the corner of the eyes on your Yorkies? What is "right"? (I mean IF there is a "correct" way to groom the Yorkies) We let the hair grow long on our Yorkies and trim only the tips of the ears and the potty areas. BUT - when we took them to the groomer once (we usually do our own grooming) she trimmed the hair by the eyes. So we followed suit for a while trimming that hair, but as it grew it would start to poke them in the eyes. Soon we started to wonder if it should just be left long. Will it grow very long and stay out of their eyes? But what about teary eyes?? My little girl has teary eyes and I wonder if it will help or hinder to trim that hair??? Sure do hope some of you have some advise for me!! Smiles!!!! |
Mitzi has short hair anyway so we always trim around the eyes. Can't give you advice here just want to 'boost' your post! :) |
I started out cutting kizzys at the corner of her eyes but it grew back so quickly, I quit cutting it. I decided once it got thru the stick in the eye area it will then fall down with her other hair and it is now starting to fall more down then stick into her eyes. |
I keep the hair around Buddy's eyes short. Between groomings he sits very still for me and I trim it. I can't stand the hair blocking those beautiful brown eyes and I would think it would be annoying to him to look out between it. |
I let it grow long... Yes it was a terrible battle fighting the constant icky eyes because of the poking hair and irritation, but now it's long enough that it lays flat and I don't have to worry about it keeping it trimmed and out of her eyes. |
I've been battling this with my girl too. Check out the pic in the avatar with the red dress...yuch, way to much hair in those eyes! However, that was her July 4th dress, and here it is August 2nd, and I can happily say I'm starting to be able to smooth that hair down. It looks good on bath day anyway! However, Villette trims her girls hair around the eyes and has posted on this before. Her girls always look great. I guess it comes down to whether or not you want to keep trimming it, or deal with it while it grows out. In other words, I don't know. As I said in the beginning, I'm battling this too.:) |
