Not looking forward to my Vacation The more we plan our vacation, the more it saddens me about leaving Elle and Louie behind. I know that they can't go with us, but I am worried that I wont enjoy myself as much, since I will be thinking about my babies the whole time. I am gonna take them both to our local doggie hotel. The lady who owns it is wonderful. She used to come to my house and let my dogs out. But she only comes 3 times a day and that is simply not enough times for my babies to go potty. I am gonna miss them sooooooooo much. Trust me I would take them with me,if I could, but I can't. I will be gone for a whole week, and I'm hoping that they don't develop any bad habits from being somewhere else. I'm not going til Nov. but the more it gets closer, the more I feel sad. We usually take our dogs every where we go. But this is one trip they can't attend. Anyways, I just thought I'd share my grief.... |
Awwwwwwwe...it is perfectly normal to be feeling like this! But don't worry....I'm sure your puppies will be well taken care of! The week before you leave to go on vacation, put a couple of towels in the bed with you and sleep with them all week. Then, when you drop them off at the doggie hotel, take those towels with you to leave with them in their crates. It will really ease their nerves to have your scent with them on those towels. Will you be able to call the hotel and check on them throughout the week that you're gone?? |
I understand completely. I doubt that I would enjoy my time away from my guys. I'd be thinking of them every second, knowing that they were missing me too. I'm sorry, I probably just made you feel even worse. |
Yes I can call, trust me, they are gonna get sick and tired of me calling. And you know what, I'm sure they are gonna get spoiled while they are there. Who is ever gonna be able to resist playing with and holding them. But still, I HATE leaving them behind for one second. Specially a whole week. I am loving the whole towel scent thing. I didn't even think of that. I will def. put their favorite toys in there as well. And I'm lucky the room is big enough for both of them to be placed in it together. Then they can be with eachother during this scary time. But thanks for your support. It really means alot! No matter what, It's gonna be hard,I know this. As long as I know, that they know, I'll coming back to pick them up, and I'm not deserting them, will help me as well. |
I can tell you from experience that leaving your babies will be very hard. You will think of them and miss them like crazy and probably buy stuff for them, too. But, it makes coming home a lot easier!!!! |
