My heart is breaking so much this week I have placed 2 of my puppies in great homes this week and the last little guy is leaving tomorrow. Even though I have 3 adult dogs 2 cats I am sad Im gonna miss all of my little furpuppies,, And I have it made we have only gone out of town (Florida to visit my family) 1 time since I have had our yorkies wanted to take her with us but we were going to disney couldnt leave her in the hotel all day.. So I have great friends that live next door and guess what they have 2 yorkies of there own, they loved to petsit for us and my little Princess just thinks of it as her second home :) . But the next time we go on vacation we will be driving and yep gonna take every one but the kittys, they are fine as long as they get a little tlc from the negibhors kids some food and a liter scooped. so I just wanted to wish you luck I know it will be hard.. but just think how many missed you mommy kisses you will get from you baby will make up a little bit:animal36 . |
I don't know if it is a chain or not, but do you have a place called "PetSuites" in your town? We have one and it is awesome. Each pet gets it's own suite, or if you have 2 to 3 pups from the same family then they can all share a suite. These suites are NICE!!! Each little suite has it's own T.V. and doggie couch, and these suites are decorated better than most peoples houses. The whole place is just beautiful. You can take their fav blankie or dog bed or Nylabone, as long as it is safe for them to have with them. They are walked several times a day (I can't remember how many but it's around 5) and they each get to visit the "indoor playground" for about an hour (two 30 to 40 minute sessions) each day. The indoor playground truly is a beautiful 20x50 ft. playground with a little white pickett fence around the play area. There are all kinds of big colorful safe toys (like balls, etc) and agility type things for them to jump and play on. The lady that built this place has been our groomer for years and she is awesome. She built it about 4 years ago and she is ALWAYS booked solid. My pups LOVE to go visit there and that is the only place that I feel even 1/2 way okay about. I HATE leaving my furkids too. Oh well, just a thought. Good luck! |
I would be the same way, it's like leaving one of your children behind. I hope everything works out for you! |

Thanks to everyone, you really made me feel better... I will keep looking for the best option for baby Luna... |
A few years ago I was going on a 10 day trip to Illinois and ther was absolutely no room for my girl and her stuff. I contemplated leavong her home but decided to use the local groomer. She always seemed nice and loved dogs. I never knew how much she loved my baby till I picked her up. I was so sad to be taking her,. They had bathed, groomed her brushed her daily and she looked like a new dog! The lady CRIED when I picked her up.Hse doesnt keept oo many dogs at a time but she kept mine mostly in her house because she was so small. I felt much better. Bonnie |
You are definitely not alone here. I got Sissy in Mid-November (months earlier than I originally planned on my furbaby) with a two week Hawaiian vacation already planned in January. Luckily, I had two good friends who each kept her for a week for me. I called every day to check on her and carried her photos around with me while I was gone. I always thought "those people" who cherished their dogs were crazy. I've had pets all my life and never felt that way about any of them. That is, until Sissy entered my life. She is my little baby and I hate leaving her at all. I have boarded her over the weekend and hated it!! I will do everything I can to have someone come stay with her or her with them when she cannot go with me. I definitely now think twice before making plans to go away - I just miss her so much. Now you might not think this is unusual, but my children are 21 and 23 and I didn't have these hesitancies when they were little!! Of course I always had family to take care of them (mostly my mom), but I didn't call to check on them!!!! Good luck on your quest. Hopefully, you can find an arrangement that you feel comfortable with and you can have good time, even though you will miss her and worry anyway! |
I really want to thank you all for your support... Today I feel better, and I know she will be OK with my friend... Besides, it is the only option I have LOL, so hopefully everything will work OK... Thanks!! |
