People leaving dogs in cars I don't know about anyone else, but I get SOOOOOOOOOO mad when I see people leaving their dogs in cars while they're shopping. I went to the grocery store today, and there were two small dogs left in a car with one window barely cracked. It was VERY hot today, and these poor little dogs were whining and barking, but mostly they were panting really hard. I was in the store about a half hour, and when I came out, they were STILL there! Aren't there laws against this? I think it's cruel!:thumbdown |

That makes me soooo mad! Im pretty sure in most states there is laws against that. People just dont realize how hot cars get and thats insane. I remember last year there were at least 3 infant deaths locally from being left in cars in the hot summer. What is wrong with people?   |
It is against the law. If you see it again call the police or tell the store manager...ASAP. I would also try to get them some air if possible...they can die in minutes in a hot car. These people should be shot!   |
I don't even like sitting in a car in the middle of the summer, so why would someone would want to put a dog in situation! People who do that lack common sense, or just cruel to animals! Look at hte crazy things people do in our world today.  :thumbdown |
I have gone into the grocery store before when I see that in hot weather and they have paged the owner by license plate. You don't need to wait around |

I've heard if its like 90 degrees outside that a car like that even with windows cracked can get up to like 115 degrees in a matter of a few minutes. I'm not positive exactly to the temp rise but somewhere in that area and it was so long ago when I heard that. Has anyone else heard anything similiar? |

Good for you. You did the right thing. It's just disgusting how dumb and insensitive people are. |

Yes I've heard that too and not sure on the exact temp but unbearably hot. |
I sometimes leave Maddie in the car if I'm just going to run in for a few minutes, but I ALWAYS leave the car running with the a/c on. If it's winter, I leave it running with the heat on. I can't imagine people leaving their pups in a car in the heat! About a month ago, a girl here in ND forgot to take her baby to the daycare...went to work with the baby in the van...went to pick up the baby and they told her she hadn't dropped her off today. They all ran out to the van to find the poor baby girl dead. I can't figure how anyone could forget their baby! That days highs were only in the 70's and even that got too hot! |
