My sister's dog is blind from being flea dipped and wormed on same day! Hopefully it is only temporary! PLEASE, avoid flea dipping to begin with and NEVER worm them at the same time! She had no idea ... did this yesterday ... her dog is blind today. Will find out in a couple of days if it is permanent. |
So sorry I am so sorry and hope that this is not permanent. I had no idea this could happen. Best wishes to you all. Donna |
OMG - That's awful. :( Poor baby! I've never heard of anything like this happening before. I hope everything turns out ok. |
Thanks for the warning. I feel so bad for your Sister. |
I have never heard of this. Thank you for posting the warning. I hope it is only temporary. |
Why flea dip a small dog to begin with? Why not use Fontline? I only heard of flea dipping on dogs who are infested with fleas. Did a professional do the dip? Good luck, hope it is only temperory. |
i'm so sorry to hear this has happen. {{hugs}} |
I'm thinking of you and your sis and the beloved doggy. I hope all is well and that the pups eyes come back to normal functionality. I'm so sorry. |
How did the blindness come about? ..... Did the flea dip get in the eyes? My husband's rat terrier sometimes gets fleas (even with the topical stuff)... he runs around free in the woods ... anyway... we use Capstar to rid him of fleas... it's a tablet that kills the fleas off his body. Hope it's only temporary.:  Keep us posted. |

She has 2 Cocker Spaniels. She went away for 2 weeks and came back to both the Cockers being infested. They did the flea dipping at home. She had to bomb the house also. Hubby didn't do such a great job with the dogs while she was gone. |

The blindness came from the wormer she used and the flea dip....too much toxins for the poor thing. I'll have to tell her about those tablets...someone else mentioned them also. |
Thanks so much for the concern everyone. I just really wanted to let everyone know NOT to do this to your Yorkie as it would probably be a lot more devestating being that they are so much smaller than a Cocker. One of my first thoughts was to warn fellow YT members. |
Aww, I hope your sister's baby gets well soon! Zoey sends many kisses! :( |
Julz- Thanks for the warning. Let your sister know we are all thinking of her and her dog and sending get well wishes. |
That's so so sad. The products should have warnings on the labels. I really hope this is temporary - I have a cocker too and can't imagine what your sister is feeling right now - Other than the blindness (which is bad enough) - is her dog going to be ok physically ? |
