Another ear question Ok, another ear question. I've never owned a yorkie. Is it normal for the ears not to stand at 8weeks old? I see everyone elses pictures of their ittybitty puppies and their ears are standing. Will they eventually go up? I want to make sure I do things right now, before it's too late. |
Oh it is perfectly normal for their ears not to stand at 8 weeks. Neither of my yorkies had their ears up until they were about 10 weeks old or so. Just make sure that you shave the hair off the top 1/3 of their ears and massage the ears often. These things will help them to stand up faster. |

Teddy's stood up eariler but Tiffanies didn't and she is now 1 & 1/2 & the tips of hers sags down..Even after I trim them...Sir. Galahad, Princess Arimathea and Sir. Lancelot my puppies all are standing up (Lancelots wasn't until this past week), Princess Isabella's WAS up sraight but NOW one was saging yesterday and today both are...They are 11 weeks old and it's kind fun to see them all perky 1 day and floopy the next! I just trimmed all of our puppies ears, paw pads. around each of thier paws & bottoms last night and today and they look so so sweet and cute...Really made a difference on their looks to me! I'll try to get photos tomorrow and post. Hugs, Lee |
Oliver is 1 1/2 and only has one ear that stands up. I think it's adorable! :p |
Before this picture of Satch was taken both his ears stood up ,all of a sudden one flopped and has never stood up since. Now both his ears are flopped and I did all the hair trimming, taping, etc called for:rolleyes: I don't worry about it because he is just so handsome ! Sammi is going to be 4 months old in August and neither one of her ears stand up.Same thing with her, ears massaged, clipped, taped, etc.I wish they would stand up but if they don't she is still my baby doll and beautiful:aimeeyork .You can only do so much so just relax and enjoy Tiffani. |
