Cruel and unusual punishment    I really need to vent.   I Used to work at Petsmart and some people would just drop off their pets that they didn't want I.E. guinea pigs, cats, dogs and etc... One person was even bold enough to let a cat go in the bathroom and then leave. The poor thing was scared half to death and was hiding. We finally set a trap with some food and caught her and Thanks to a wonderful adoption agency she now has a new home. Her name is gretchen and she's a beautiful tabby. BUT WHAT PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW IS THIS WHEN YOU DROP OFF A PET AT A PET RETAIL STORE THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL GO TO AN ADOPTION AGENCY SUCH AS THE ONE DID ABOVE. SOMETIMES IF NO ONE CAN TAKE IT, THEY HAVE TO CALL ANIMAL CONTROL. I DON'T KNOW IF PEOPLE REALIZE THIS OR NOT BUT JUST BECAUSE WE TAKE CARE OF PETS DOESN'T MEAN CAN CLEAN UP YOUR CARELESSNESS. YOU GOT A PET FOR A REASON, AND IF YOU DIDN'T WANT IT TO PROCREATE YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE NECESSARY STEPS AND GOTTEN IT NEUTERED OR SPAYED. NO EXCUSES. YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY? DON'T GET A PET. IT'S NOT FAIR TO THE PET. PETS ARE FAMILY, TREAT THEM AS SUCH. The reason I'm so PO'D is because I have myspace and My friend who is still working at Petsmart posted a bulleton saying that someone dropped off a litter of three week old kittens next to the dumpster around five last night in 105 degree weather. There were seven of them. they got four adopted out and he took a couple and my other friend(who also posted a bulletin stating the same thing, with pictures of her new baby) took one. THREE WEEKS OLD PEOPLE AND IN 105 DEGREE WEATHER. who with a heart could do such a thing? Thanks for listening. |
   Everyday proves my theory that people suck:mad:  |
It is unbelievable how uncaring and irresponsible some people are. I guess this is what this throw-away-society does. You don't want it? Just let somebody else take care of it. :thumbdown  :thumbdown  :thumbdown  |
Some people are just insensitive a**holes. |
Thats awful:thumbdown I didnt know people dumped their unwanted pets at Petsmart. How cruel and irresponsible is that! I am glad they found homes for those little kittens. |
Yes we take care of animals and love them, but because we work at Petsmart or petco chances are we have tons ourselves. I can't believe how f'd up these people were and are. |

It happens A LOT. we've had mulitple cats dropped off, dogs, hamsters, mice(somewhat understandable but still), and even an iguana once. we don't even allow people to give their pets away in our parking lots. we ask them to leave. |
 I wish that they would do the same thing to the stupid people that do that to all these poor little animals....I am just glad that there are some people that do care...But I would really like to meet some of these people..I live behind a subdivision, & there are apartments around too, I am always finding stray cats, I just wish the world was alittle more pet friendly, and if they get tired of animals dont throw the poor babies away....just don't get them in the first place. If they are not going to be responible to please spay or neuter... |
OMG that's horrible! I didn't realize people did that, but I don't know why it surprises me.:( |

People are mean & cruel to these poor animals, the worse I have seen in person not on the news or heard about it from people...one day I was on my route and I saw this pickup truck slow down and throw something in the road, it was a kitten, I was horrified..I stop got out, a lady was out in her front yard, she saw the whole thing too, the poor kitten was dead, I jump in my jeep and chase that stupid person about 2 miles, if I could of got him I would probably been put in jail, but I did get his tag #,& I did call in on him, we do have a law here, I think he got 90 day probation.(big deal), thats why I think they should someday get treated the same way they treat animals.... |
That is HORRIBLE! Some people just make me sick! Those poor babies!:( |
How can anyone be so cruel and throw a kitten out of a moving vehicle??? One time I was grocery shopping and when I came out of the store, I saw someone stop near my car and open their door and put something out. As I got closer, I could see it was a little baby kitten. It looked far too young to be away from its mother. I took it home and had to bottle feed it, but we managed to keep it healthy and find a good home for it. I can\'t believe how mean people can be to a poor little, defenseless animal. But, as I said, it shouldn\'t surprise me. How many human infants are found dead in dumpsters? Makes me wonder how many are put there and never found. |
People can be so heartless. I used to groom a woman\'s Yorkie and she was always trying to get me to take her 2 cockatiels. My daughter had 2 and I guess she thought we were bird lovers.. Finally, she told me she found a home for them...she took them to a big pet warehouse, put the cage in a cart, acted like she was shopping, then left them in the back of the store...! My friend at the Humane Society said they love to get birds, most go home with workers..why abandon them? |
I didn\'t know people drop their pets off at petsmart either...but I guess it\'s better then throwing them away??? It\'s still not right though, and your right...spay and nueter people!!! |
That is just sad :( . Some people dont just dont deserve the love of a pet. |
