Here you go ladies! this thread is from last year. and I still remember how much it freaked me out when I was involved with it. it still freaks me out when I think about the stories people posted, which is why I refuse to read it again. but some of you might enjoy it! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...+ghost+stories |
Thanks girl, I was ready to go to bed, forgot all about the ghost stories, and I hear you got mail, so naturally I have to read your post, and read these other ones....just kidding, I already freaked myself out, I went into my laundry room, and the light was off, reached up to turn it on, & felt something, ran like crazy to the kitchen, turn around & it was the darn cat....lol |
I defintely believe in this kind of stuff. When my uncle passed away my son was still really young and he would sit and stare at the ceiling giggling as if someone was tickling him. Also I am a realtor and about a month after one of our clients bought a house the new owners called us to tell they were scared stiff because the house was def haunted. They had a preist come in to cleanse/ bless the house but it didnt work they sold the house and got the heck out. Alsothat last pic with the shadow in the window, the spots of light you see may be what they call orbs. I listed my friends house who lives down the block from a cemetery and in every pic i seen those same spots. She practices wicca and explained to me that those are orbs or spirits. It was really freaky cause there was no explanation for where the light would have come from. I have also felt my grandmother in her house the first time I felt her there it scared and I left right away but then when I figured out what it was I would go to her house and sit on her bed and talk to her. It was actually comforting because there was such a strong presence of her there. |

One picture I have of my son & husband opening presents the same Christmas as the picture I shared here. In that pictures there are orbs dancing all around my husband, a smoke-like film around my husband and son and a definite light shining over the tree--it looks like an overhead light shining brightly. The only problem with that is, WE DON'T HAVE OVERHEAD LIGHTS in that room. All lighting is done by lamps. That same Christmas, I have a picture of my mother opening a present, seated on the inside of that window in the previous photo, by where the black shape with the red lights can be seen. In the picture there is a reverse image of that shape--it's white, with neon pink dots. It's HUGE and it looks like it's looking at my mother opening her present. Subsequent Christmases have not been as active as our first one was, but I've taken to "talking" to our ghost. I actually say "Tony I know you're here and that's OK, but you scare us when you poke us & show up in pictures. Leave us alone, and we'll leave you alone. OK? Just remember you SOLD the house to us so it's OUR house now, and you are a GUEST. Just let us be." I think it actually works, to acknowledge him like that and tell him that the house is ours. While the house gets more "active" in the winter and around Christmas, it's not as bad as that first year we were here. |

That would scare me to death...I glad I can't see it...:D |
That was the first time I had ever seen orbs! When I downloaded them my computer to make some brochures I called her and emailed her the pics asking her "what the heck are those spots all over. She just laughed at me lol. I guess she was used to it already. |

Anyway, this fella was "looking for the light" and when I was taking pictures, he saw my bright flash and thought that was the light. She said that when I took that picture, he was actually about 3 inches from my camera. Thank the Lord I didn't see anything at the time or I would have ended up in the ER with cardiac arrest! |

I LOVE that show ..There's no way anyone can tell me we aren't living with spirits. I did make my husband promise me after he's gone - he will NOT haunt me - lol ...it's kind of sick sounding with him ill - but pretty funny when I said that to him. I told him if he thinks I tune him out now - try it as a ghost ....cause...The REMOTE is ALL MINE !:) |

That reminds me of my friend, Jessica's, house. We were there alone one night when her parents were out and I heard something downstairs. and I FREAKED out. That's when she proceeded to tell me about her Grandma who was always over her house while she was alive. She slept there a lot and whenver she did she'd sleep down on the couch in the basement (where I heard the sound.) it freaked me out a lot. She was also telling me about a time that her mom woke up her dad in the middle of the night (shortly after Jess's grandma died) because she heard a sound downstairs. jessica was listening to them and her dad came back and said to her mom, "She's downstairs."   |
Megan...that is one brave girl. I don't think I could sleep in the same room as one - but I sure want to hear or see one. |

Love reading all these stories - I seriously recommend the Sylvia Brown books - not only as a fantastic read, but it explains ALL of the things that you guys are talking about. She talks about the difference between ghosts, spirits, spirit guides, and angels (those 'orb' things you're seeing sound like angels or a spirit guide - especially if they were around your child). According to her, heaven is actually just 3 feet above earth, which is why spirits seem to be 'floating' when we see them. Ghosts are earthbound so we see them walking among us either because they don't realize they're dead or won't accept that they are dead - but they cannot hurt you, no matter how threatening they may seem... She's on Montel Williams every wednesday and it's really intersting to watch her help audience members with their life questions and hauntings etc. Anyways, she really does have fascinating 'theories' on life, death, the afterlife, and the meaning of life that I have found really interesting. |

Good point!!!:) |
I'd much rather think that there are a bunch of animals floating around my room than a bunch of people. *shudders* There are times though...when I can just tell that someone is here with me. My grandma and I were very close. Last year, on the anniversary of the day she died I was just up in my room and I hadn't stopped crying like all day. Suddenly I just felt so at peace. and I'm sure it was her with me. Oh and here's this one! I just remembered this! My brother and I had had another sister, Erin. I was only 2, so I don't remember her, but my brother was 4 1/2. according to my mom, he was so upset when they had to tell him that his new sister wasn't coming home from the hospital. A few weeks after she was born and died, my brother came out to the kitchen in the morning and said to my mom, "where's Erin?" and my mom said, "what do you mean?" and Kevin told her that Erin had come to visit him last night and they were playing. that story...gosh. It gives me the chills, but also makes me happy. |
stories to tell... This thread has been for some time but I would like to continue it as I have stories to tell and I don't want to forget them as I think we need to remember that we do not own the planet ourselves and we share this world with others. I used to tell it to hubby when I get the chance but he doesn't believe it and says I am crazy. I used to study in east of Malaysia, our university were new and were developed from a forest and our dorm needless to say was very near to a forest as well.I have seen a shadow of a tall and big sized man when I went to the dorm toilet one day at 4pm and I have heard (in the same toilet) them crying. The toilet was always dark even in daytime and it has about 10 cubicles in 2 rows. I didn't know what the heck it was at first as it doesn't really sound like human's and I thought it was some kind of bird or something and it took me 15 minutes to start to notice it was something else because I started to feel creepy and I was in the midst or washing my hair...I couldn't run and started panicking. It went on for about 2 minutes of me starting to panick and all of a sudden, it stopped...and a minute after, a few friends came in to the toilet.I supposed "it" knew someone else was coming and stopped while I didn't hear my friends coming...needless to say, i hurried out of the toilet looking pale and was so scared i didn't say hi to my group of friends. After the first year, we moved out from the dorm coz it was too creepy. We rented a house, all 8 girls in a 4 room house and it was new but..there were stories. There was once, I rushed in to the toilet in the middle of the night and I didn't turn on the lights coz I just usually finish my business quickly and drop right bed to bed.I didn't even close the door fully. When I was in the middle of my business, I sense something on top of me...you know what I mean and I couldn't stop peeing at that moment...boy...I was sooooo scared. I didn't look up, I know it was there and jumped out of the toilet as soon as I finished..forgetting to flush. Also, there was a time at 9pm I was in my room with my roommate and I was lying down on my mattress reading a book. The room was brightly lit. Suddenly, I felt a pinch on my thigh. It wasn't a quick pinch. It was a slow, angry, hard, twisted pinch and I was startled and jolted from my lying down postion. My leg really hurts and I don't see anything near my leg. Nothing! I told my roomate..she didn't really belive me until the next day, the blue and black marks were showing and it looks like fingerprints.Creepy! We also had funny phone calls and usually around 1am. It happened occasionally like few times in a year.I didn't believe it at first and there was once when it rang at 1am, I picked it up.....it was a man but doesn't sound like human or anything......it scared the hell out of me...but we didn't move out as we had a 2 year contract and there 8 of us so we stayed on and made sure there is always 2 or more people in the house. Another time, before I became a Christian...we were burning some incense and paper money to the other world according to chinese practise for my brother who has never been born because he died at 6 months of pregnancy although the doctor tried everything he could. We were doing it at night with my mom and sis. A short while after, both of them walked home to get more stuff while I continue to burn the offerings piece by piece. Out of nowhere, I heard a buzzing sound..flying right past my right ear..loud..sounds like a bug but not exactly..you will know it because all my hair was freezing and standing up! The next story..was when my whole family went out to the market in the morning and came home and my old dog, Sugar, a Shih-Tzu started to look like he was chasing someone although there were no one but the air. Then, it seemed like the thing was stuck at a corner in the ceiling. My Sugar kept barking and barking at it and the weird thing is, he never never barked at anyone, strangers or not that came to visit us so...it was rather strange. It went on for 10 minutes and then the "thing" went upstairs. My Sugar follow suit and bark and bark and bark and the "thing" finally went out and my Sugar chased after it all the while barking. After that, he came in--I guess the thing was gone and my Sugar came in and shivered like crazy. He wasn't sick, but you know he shivered coz he saw something. If it weren't for Sugar that day, we wouldn't know it came home with us. I do believe in ghosts because it happened to me and I have seen it. My dad was pushed by a "force" down the stairs and dislocated his arms because of it at his haunted office. An employee there actually went home coz the clock showed the end of the shift but when she got home, she got a call from her manager asking her where she is as it was still an hour before the end of her shift. She resigned after that.Employees have heard footsteps, noises, kids looking in from outside the office glass window..you name it..its crazy..That area used to be a killing place during the World War II and many many people died there. I also have dreamt of my relatives who passed away and wished to relay a message. My grandfather, and an uncle who committed suicide. He told me in my dreams what to say to his family..it could be just a dream, I don't know but I know I am very sensitive in that nature. Also, I sometimes felt the presence of a good friend who died young. With all these stories, I just couldn't go back to not believing in them when everyone around me says they don't believe it. |

Did you ever hear the story about the ghost dog? This couple lived on a farm and they had all different kinds of animals but no dog. One day the lady got sick and she went into like a coma or something and she had to stay in the hospital. When the husband got home he found a dog at his doorstep just sitting there waiting. He went inside and the dog followed. For weeks this dog woulfd follow him around as he did his daily chores around the farm. And every night this dog would somehow escape out of the backyard and it was weird cause it was all fenced in and there was no way out! So one day the husband taped all the noises from the farm like the chickens and the dogs bark. He would play it to his wife everyday and one day she reacted to the dogs barking by moving her fingers. She wasn't supposed to make it but by miracle she survived. When she finally went home with her husband and as she got better she started to worry about what the dog did when he got out of the backyard like where he would go. So she closed the door with him in the bedroom with her and her husband. They both fell asleep and when they woke up the dog was gone. |
Oooh this is such a good thread. I just read the whole thing through. I've gone from having chills to laughing to crying. I, myself, have never experienced ghosts. I believe in them but I choose to close myself off from them. I'm too much of a chicken to handle that stuff. And I've lived alone for 3 years now and quite frankly would pass out if I encountered one. BUT... when I was in college my girlfriend and I lived in apartments across the hall from each other. The apartment building was pretty old and hadn't always been college housing. One night around 3am I hear a BANGING on my door. I was totally freaked out, but hopped out of bed and saw her through the peep hole. I opened the door and her eyes were lined with red, she was the palest I've ever seen her and she was shaking. I swear she looked posessed! Turns out, she had been laying in bed and for some reason she woke up. Moments later she heard her toilet flush, the water turn on and off and the bathroom door (which was shut tight) FLUNG OPEN. So she laid there for a minute trying to calm down and heard a kitchen chair scrape across the floor like somone was pulling it out to sit down in it. That was enough for her. She flew out of that apartment. And it wasn't the first time either.. we had twin beds in college and she said one time she woke up randomly (she's a very sound sleeper) and found herself squished to one side of her bed as if she were laying there WITH someone else and that there was the shape of it too. She also said that whenever the "g-man", as we affectionately called him, was present you would know because it felt kind of like a bubble was popping on your skin. My mom and her sisters are all very much in-touch with these sorts of things. They have stories that would keep you awake at night for days! I'm really glad that I have no parts in any of that! Now, I just have to promise myself I won't check this thread any more today or I won't be able to sleep tonight!!! |
When I meet new friends I always ask..."do you believe in ghosts or spirits" and EVERYONE has a story to tell!! I do believe and have experienced things too...too many stories to share. Interesting thread!! Whats a chigger? Dawn |

I think it's kinda cool...and dogs are more sensitive and open to "seeing things" than we are. Kepp us posted of anymore oddities or sightings. Very interesting. And don't be scared...they cant hurt you :) |
:lol tears :lol tears :lol tears I would LOVE it! I love ghosts and ghost stories. I'm with everyone else tho. Animals do have a sixth sense about things like this! COOL! LOL |
I believe animals can see more then wht we think. Snickers may be seeing a ghost, this is pretty spooky! |
