Teething Problem? My Ginger has been teething for a few weeks now. I just noticed last night that her two bottom baby K-9 teeth have not fallen out and her new ones are growing in behind them. Is this normal or should I be worried? |
This is completely normal and quite a common occurance in yorkies. How old is Ginger? Has she been spayed? I would suggest getting them pulled when she is spayed. If she has already been spayed, then you really should get them pulled by the vet, but it is to your discretion as to when you want to do this. Many people wait until their yorkies are around a year old or so to see if they fall out of their own. Others, such as myself, prefer getting them pulled as soon as they are done teething. Retained baby teeth can mess up their bite and food can get stuck between the retained baby tooth and the adult tooth and rot causing all sorts of problems. But, retained baby teeth are nothing to be worried about. |
If they don't fall out soon I'd get them pulled by a vet |
I have same problems. My Pebbles is 1 year and many of her baby teeth has not fallen. I noticed some baby tooth gone but no adult teeth. I think my baby will need braces. |

she needs the rest pulled. or at least ask the vet for their opinion |
I had the same concern about 2 months ago. Our vet said they would come about in about 3 weeks, or he would pull them. Well, three of the four canines did fall out. Gaby had the other one pulled last Monday. She also had a moler that had to be pulled at the same time. Now she is doing fine. |
Last night while brushing Ollies teeth I noticed that her two top canines were loose. I was worried that they would have to be pulled. She is 7 months old. |
