question about belly bands?? What is the middle material that absorbs the moisture called?? And where can I get it?? I have some fabric that I could use to make a belly band which would save me money since I do need new ones for the boys. Someone once told me that they have a material in the middle that absorbs the moisture but I can't remember who told me that and what it is called.  |
Didn't know there was absorbant material. I've always cut a sanitary napkin in half and used that. |
The belly band I bought didn't have anything in it. I use a thin maxi pad in mine, just toss it in the trash and get another. I take them off when the boys go outside, and put them back on when they come inside. Works wonders. Only bad thing, it does mat their hair. They have to be brushed more often. |
The belly bands I have have a cotton in the middle to absorb better. |
Flannel works well. |
I don't even do any that. I just slap a washcloth around my dog and pin it with a diaper pin. I check him often - and if it's the slightest bit damp - I change it. (The washcloth is folded over two or three times before I wrap it around my dog - so there is quite a bit of material there.....) I have two or three dozen washcothes that are only used for my dog. I just throw them in the wash with the rest of my laundry. Carol Jean |
