About attention i have a question... we have a 5 month old lil one. im a stay at home wife and stay with Poopy all day. i feed him, play with him, etc. but why is it when my husband comes homes, he likes to play with him more. he'll sit on my husbands lap, wanna play with him, and so on while i'm just sitting there trying to get some attention from him (my yorkie's attention not my husbands :D ). so i was wondering does anyone elses lil one likes to play with your S.O. more than you? i don't wanna seem jeolous of my husband or anything. do you guys think it's cuz he's home with me all day. i am the more nurturing type and take care of him more, but my husband is a bit more fun to play with i guess. i guess i just want all the lil ones love. haha. |
My bf works from home, so Kona is with him all day and then once I get home she really doesn't leave my side. I think it is great that Poopy loves both you and your husband! |
I am home with Cali all day and when my husband comes home she brings her toy to him to play and she hardly will play with me anymore. I think it's just someone different to play with. |
It sounds just like a kid. When they need something or are sicki or hurt they go to mom, but for play they go to dad. |
Kizzy is the same way by my hubby. Once he comes in she is all his and its all fine by me. Thats when I let him have her attn and I get on computer and play. One thing, she always jumps up in his lap, they play a bit and not too much later they are both sound asleep in hubbys chair. I let em sleep till I know hubby needs to be in bed since he gets up so early. We usually eat, sit out on the deck and talk about our day and maybe go to the lake and feed the fish. by then its pretty dark and thats when they go to sleep in the chair. She is daddys girl at night. Doesnt bother me one bit as i've had her all day. |
We see this concern a lot!!!! My dogs are the same way - only, I'm single and they are this way with company, relatives, and friends. When these people come over, my dogs will have little to do with me and want to play with everyone else. Simple answer ---- I'm their mom!!! They have me all day and take me for granted just like children do. They love me (probably the most), but I'm always there and there is nothing exciting or different about me. However, anyone they see less often or haven't seen for a while is a whole different thing. They are excited to see them and want to spend time with them and play with them. You're a stay-at-home mom. Your pup doesn't have to worry about losing you or not being able to see you for a while. But like I tell everyone. No matter how many people are at my house - if my dogs ever get hurt or frightened ---you know who they run to. Me, of course. Let your puppy enjoy your husband when he gets home. They deserve their time together too. I think it's great that your pup loves both of you so much. There is no place for jealousy in a family ---- only love. **** I think I can safely say that if the tables were turned - if your husband stay home during the day - and you went to work - your puppy would be happy to see you come home at night and want to spend that time with you. Enjoy your family! Carol Jean |
It would be the same way if you were gone all day and your hubby was home with the pup. That's just a yorkie for ya!:D Whoever is gone is missed by them. Everyone is supposed to stay home with them all day. That's a yorkie rule! :D |
Baby does the same thing. He gets home and she's all over him. On weekends when he is able to sleep in with us,she will crawl over my face and step on me to get to him. He recieves kisses then she curls up next to him. I like to believe its because she is with me day and night ( I am a stay at home mom too) and she misses him because he's at work 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Its why I got my second yorkie |
oh i totally thought i was doing something wrong for him to not like me as much. haha. it makes me feel much better to know that i'm not alone on this. i like him to play with my husband cuz i do get tired in the evening after having him all day, but sometimes on the weekend or when we are all just relaxing together...it would be nice if i wasnt invisable. :) but i guess that's how kids are too. mom's the invisable one and daddy's the fun one. |
