I am so sorry! That is one of my most feared thoughts. Gus pretty much stays away from the pool but loves to run back and forth barking when every one is in playing. I put him in every so often and he knows how to get out but I still get so scared. My thoughts and prayers are going out to you and your family. RIP sweet Bailey.

i am so very sorry....i have the same worry with my pool. it is my worse nightmare and to read this, it hurts so badly. my prayers are with you and the family. i hope your children are handling it as well. again i am so sorry

Sending hugs. It will be hard for you for awhile. Try not to live with regret, it will eat you alive. You did everything you could and sometimes things just happen. I know you'll wonder when the day will come that you don't think about it every minute, but it will and you will go on remembering the good times and knowing that you provided Bailey with more happy moments than most dogs get in a long lifetime.

Oh, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I just feel that these black typed words won't get my sympathy across to you. Please know that my heart goes out to you and your husband. What a monumental loss. I somehow found comfort in what you said about your Grandpa saying what he did (however I am sorry to hear of your loss there also). I will keep you in my prayers and hope that each day gets a little better and a little brighter for you and yours.

I\'m so sorry for your loss. :( I had no idea how very much tied up emotionally we are to these little darlings until I got my first puppy this year... I can\'t imagine losing my dog and how horrible it must feel. At any rate, I hope you feel better and thank you for the warning about the pool.

I am sooo very sorry to hear about your loss. When one of us here at YT loses a companion, we all feel like we have lost a friend. Thank you for posting in this time of loss..educating the pet owner is so important.

I\'m sooo sorry! what a huge loss... I do know how sad you are, since losing Joey just recently, but please don\'t dwell on blaming yourself. Something very similar happened many years ago to me.... my SON drowned right behind me at a kiddie pool... fortunately, someone spotted him floating, and we were able to revive him and he has had no repercussions... he was 2 at the time. I was distracted taking care of my baby niece at the time... playing with her in the water. I was blessed that he survived, but I know how you feel, having been right next to Bailey when it was happening. I wish I could give you a big hug right now and cry with you... just know that there are many of us out here crying with you and mourning your loss...

I\'ve passed by your post several times because I just can\'t handle reading about losing pets. So I\'m sorry that I didn\'t post right away. I can\'t imagine the pain you guys are going through and I\'m so sorry for your loss.

i am so sorry for your loss. What a terrible thing to go thru. By nature, dogs really are swimmers. What we have to watch our yorkies for is their hair weights them down and they don\'t have the strength with all that wet hair. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

I\'m so sorry for your loss. As painful as it must have been to post about it, thank you for warning the rest of us. Maybe your post will save the life of one of our Yorkies. I would have thought the danger was over when your husband safely scooped him out of the water. Bailey had a great life. I hope the good memories bring you comfort.
