Field Yorkie ?? Talking to a lady I was told that her dog was a Field Yorkie .It has longer legs and weighs in around 15 lbs.A picture of it looks like any Yorkie, just a bit bigger.Any comments? |
Never heard of it, but I wanted to bump you up so that someone else would see your thread. Good luck in finding out what she meant exactly;) |
I also have never heard of a field yorkie |
I've never heard of "field" yorkies - but my Dougal's 15lbs and generally a big lad all over. So instead of calling him a throwback like I normally do I can call him a field yorkie ! LOL! |
Haven't heard of the term "field Yorkie," but there are the events where Yorkies and other dogs are entered to do the things that they were originally bred to do. They have tunnels and game that they are timed to reach, etc. And - of course - the people and the dogs both love these events/contests. And then there are the field trials for the hunting breeds - wonderful exercises - hunting - pointing - retrieving - etc. Maybe it's something along these lines.... And - I can't help but think that the bigger Yorkie would be better at this. (Yorkies more the size that Yorkies used to be!!!) Carol Jean |
Did she mean silkies? Silkies are bigger with longer legs and look alot like yorkies. I have never heard of a field yorkie unless she was refering to the type of work it does. |
