Professor Connor's Deli Fresh Meat and Rollover Dog Food Rolls I was given a large slice of Professor Connor's Deli Fresh Meat (http://www.delifreshpet.com/about_ingredients.html) from the breeder to feed Angel a small amount once a day, but it doesn't stay fresh for very long in the fridge after opening (8-10 days according to the company rep who e-mailed me). I didn't buy it for her after the slice I was given was thrown out because the roll is too big. The smallest size it comes in is 700 g in Canada. I saw another type of roll by Rollover (https://www.businessvision.net/edge/...8&PageNumber=1 and http://www.renspets.com/mm5/merchant...=&range_high=) and the smallest size is 230 g. I don't know what ingredients are in it though. Has anyone fed this to their dogs? Do you know if it's healthy? |
I have never heard of them. |
I'm not familiar with this brand, but the ingredients sound similar to the Natural Balance Meat Rolls (which come small or really large and in lamb, beef and turkey varieties). The rep told me if you slice and freeze the slices, just thawing when you need more - it will retain freshness better. |
I was looking at the catalogue of The Pet Supply House I got from the store a while back ago and it says: "Quality Ingredients Using only the best of meat from the industry's top producers and federally inspected facilities. Farm Meats produces a highly digestible and palatable premium dog food. The meats are blended with whole-wheat flour and then are compressed into our famous roll packaging. The rolls are the pressure-cooked, thus cooking the meat in its own juices. In addition to digestible meat proteins, Rollover also provides high-quality fat for healthy skin and a lustrous coat, complex carbohydrates for energy and fiber, plus vitamins and minerals for a complete nutritional meal. Freshness Guaranteed Because Rollover are completely natural, with no artificial colourants or preservatives, their low moisture levels make them less susceptible to spoilage. Rollover Rolls are a semi-moist food with only 36% moisture compared to canned dog food, which has 74% moisture, on average. Rollover is guaranteed a 12-month shelf life without refrigeration, or freezer life of 18 months. Once opened, the Roll requires refrigeration and will stay tasty for three months. The environmentally friendly packaging uses 75% less packaging than conventional products, thereby producing less waste and recycling." |
I bought this food myself for Ruby it truely has very good ingredients in it. Like actually chunks of veggies(visible in the roll) , rice and meat. I thought it would be great for my girl but for some reason she would throw-up after eating it so I had to stop it all together. Now I feed Bil_JAc and that were we are staying.:animal36 |

I buy food in rolls like this for Google for training treats or to give him as an entire meal if he's been especially good. :) I buy the roll, then slice the entire thing in quarter-inch thick slices; I then put them in freezer bags and put whatever won't be consumed within a couple of days in the freezer. Slicing it thin like I do ensures that it thaws out quickly. I take out a new bag the day before I need it, to thaw in the fridge. It works out pretty well that way. |
