Well, I do know that I complain that hubby, Cal, doesn't throw anything away. His garage/workshop is filled to the brim with things I would have thrown out long ago.

I've been wanting a grooming arm for some time now as it's difficult for me to do any grooming at all as my hands aren't very strong cause of the MS. Even getting his topknot in these days has been difficult. Sweet hubby surprised me with a neat grooming arm that works perfectly. He made it from...now get this...a part from the kids' old stroller (my kids are now 16 and 13)!!

I knew he said that someday the parts would come in handy...guess I'll have to eat my words! (I do hope we don't have to wait another 13 years for him to find uses for the rest of the thing!:rolleyes: )

Wow! That a cool grooming are and noose. I sure wish i had that talent cause we can use one here. Thanks for sharing.:animal36

LOL...too true!
I'll take a picture and post it later of the ramp that he fashioned for Topher to get on and off the bed...it is THE coolest thing...he made it from left over wood from our old water bed..hehe...he's like my own McGyver this guy.

They are very easy to make, and a lot cheaper than buying one.

I made one for myself a while back. It looks just like that one.

They say necessity is the mother of invention. I don't have MS, I have CIDP which is a chronic nerve disorder. And it has similar symptoms to MS weak shaky hands. So I made myself a grooming arm for the same reason.

Jeanie is right, they're not that difficult to make. You just need a piece of metal and a way to bend it...and a clamp. It took him a couple of tries to get the height right (we tested it out for him). I'm sure he'd make you one chattiesmom, if you're really in need of one. Just PM me.
