Rubbing off his hair Scooter is constantly flopping on his back and flailing about as if he's scratching his back, but most of the time it looks like he's just acting silly for fun. He's rubbed the hair off between his shoulders so that it is only about a centimeter long now. Is this normal? |
I don't have any advice to give ya but I hope someone posts back to ya. My Tilly does something very similar. Hmmm.... She hasn't lost any hair but now I'm afraid she will start. Best of luck with Scooter! |
Did you check his skin? Is is red or flaky? A flee bite? Maybe he is allergic to something. Yorkies are having sometimes allergies to corn and/or wheat in their food. If it is just a behaviour (what I don't really believe) you could put a shirt or vest on him to prevent his hair from getting rubbed off. Keep us posted! :aimeeyork |

I stopped applying Advantage for a month to see if that was it, but he’s still doing it. His skin looks fine, he just has short hair. My vet told me to wash him with some oatmeal shampoo and to give him children’s Benadryl. If it is behavioral, she suggested buying a vest for him. So, I guess we’ll see. I thought maybe it was just yorkie silliness…like how they stick their tongues out and sleep on their backs. |
