Has a male dog ever tried to get "funny" with your boy?
 
The other day I was walking Nikko and spotted another yorkie just ahead. Nikko of course got all excited as he usually does when he sees another dog. The owner seemed friendly so we allowed the dogs to get to know each other. The usual sniffing occured and then before I knew what was happening, the other dog started to mount Nikko!!:eek: The lady just looked at me and says, "that's a female?" I quickly said no and pulled Nikko away before the other dog was able to do anything further. I must admit, I was disgusted by the other dog's actions. When I told my husband he was angry that Nikko didn't try to fight off the other dog and just lay there like a "wimp". I just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else's yorkie boy. I am sure this was just the other dog's way of showing dominance over Nikko but I felt bad that my sweet little boy was almost "violated" this way. Am I overreacting and making too much of this? I trust that my YT family will offer their thoughts on this.

I believe your right about the dominance. My daughter has a pug. He and
Buddy are the same age. When my Yorkie was a pup her pug would constantly
mount Buddy and I would become upset. I told her her dog had issues. She
laughed and said it was all about dominance. Buddy now 2 does it once in
awhile to show he is the alpha. Seems strange but it's true. You really
have to think like a dog to understand them.

My husband assumed the other dog wanted to "mate" with Nikko. As a "macho man" he was offended that Nikko didn't try to fight off the other dog. Thank you for backing up my point about the dominance thing. I knew I wasn't crazy;)

It sounds like you have a very laid back gentle dog. Be glad he is that
way. Dogs who like to be an ALPHA can be a hand full at times not to
mention embarassing their owner.

I agree. The other dog was just showing dominance over Nikko. Alpha dogs are a handful. Just imagine how embarrassed you would be if Nikko was doing the humping!

Yea Georgie is sometimes the humper and often times the humpee:eek: I don't think Nikko felt violated he probably knows thats what other doggies do. I would be happy that Nikko was so laid back;)
