Foaming at the mouth? I have a question.. yesterday afternoon I took Gizmo and Madda outside to go play in the backyard, anyhow Gizmo started to eat grass and when we were going to go back inside I noticed that he was foaming a bit on his mouth, kinda towards the bottom of his jaw, anyhow I have never seen him do this before so this was a first for me... The only other time this has happened was about a 2 weeks ago when he went to the groomers with his sista and the groomer mentioned to me that he was foaming at his mouth..so I watched him like a hawk for 2 days and nothing strange was strange, good bowel movements and eating good...do u think maybe it was from it being too hot for him or something? Just trying to get a feel of the situation.... he is acting fine, eats and plays and poops regular..dunno, any ideas??? Just want to be sure ya know..... thanks in advance for any help! |
Our new yorkie, Hootie, was doing this exact same thing last week!!!!! She would get white foamy stuff around her mouth and then she would also cough up white foamy stuff. We had to take her to the vet for a checkup anyway so we asked her about the white foam. She said that Hootie probably just ate some grass or something outside. She told us not to worry about it at all. It has only happened once or twice since we went to the vet, but sure enough, before she starts foaming I see her eating grass or something outside. :p They are such crazy dogs! Unless it gets to be where he's foaming ALL the time, I wouldn't worry about it, especially since he is eating and playing well, which is also what Hootie was doing. :D :aimeeyork :) :animal36 ;) :animal-pa  |
Since your in Harlingen, my best guess would be that he became overheated. |

I have no idea! Did you call the vet and ask? Thats probably what I would do! Good luck! |
Mine will foam if they get a hold of the toads that like to hang out in my back yard. It's pretty disgusting! |
They don't bite or eat the toads, just a little lick and toads are very bitter so then they'll leave them alone but the drool and foam excessively. |

My Gizmo gets foam on his mouth too!! LOL. It might just be excessive drool. Thats when my Gizmo foams is if he's drooling a lot and very excited. |
that used to happen every once in a while with our bigger dog Chloe no big deal UNLESS THEY ACT STRANGE then I'd watch them, and try to make a vet appointment (and it used to happen a lot with chloe when she was a puppy and at grass) i'm sure it's fine! |
GRASS! BUGS!, ETC. WHATS WRONG WITH THESE LITTLE GUYS, THEY ACT LIKE ANIMALS SOMEITMES! :tongue036 now is the time to give him kisses for me. |
