pics of my one puppy 1 Attachment(s) i am new to this soo. i know i posted pic in yorkie photo gallery but i am going to try here too. thanks for all your replies. i am hoping that since this is her first litter she will have more than one next time. she is such a great mother. i had a hard time getting her away from the puppy. one more thing, should i dock his tail? is it really necessary? as well as dew claws? at what age? thanks again. what a great site so much information. |
Oh Lilag, how precious is that! What a tiny puppy, awww!!! I don't know much about tail docking and dew claw, etc (I think both must be taken care of very early but I'm not a breeder myself) But I wanted to say congrats, he's gorgeous! |
Oh how adorable is he?!?!? Love the pic. |
Oh how sweet. |
You have to make your decision about docking quickly (3 -5 days old). Of course, docking isn't necessary, but it is what people expect here in the U.S. (banned in other countries). I have one with a natural tail and I like it just fine. It does however, create an optical illusion making her body look rather long for her height. I can't say I have ever had a problem with a dew claw, but if you do not stay on top of nail cutting the nail will curve and grow into the skin. Also, since the nail grows in a curve they are more likely to get it caught on something and cause an injury. |
That is one cute little face! Congratulations. |
Awwww what a cutie. I agree...the tail is optional but expected here in the states...so, if you are wanting to sell her, I'd dock it. Dewclaws are easy to remove and IMO safer to do so. less worries that way. Kristie |
