I have been having my yorkie Gracie for a little more than a month and she is great and i love her ... but at night she still crys to sleep in her kennel i thought it would just take a few days for her to get used to it and realize she has to stay in it and sleep but idk! Any ideas?? In need of some sleep please help! lol!:confused:

The same thing happened to us for a while too and at one point my b/f just scolded for our fur-baby to pipe down...and he did ever since.

I know a lot of people are going to probably not like this.... But I let Tigger sleep with my boyfriend and I. He has since Day One. Literally.. Sure he had a few accidents but not many and he didn't whine either. and I'm getting a second yorkie in August and I plan on doing the same with him then.

I think Gracie is not giving up on the idea that she wants to sleep with you . . . IN BED :rolleyes: Both my babies do . . . except these past few weeks as they were sick then I got sick . . .I am hoping to have them back in bed by the end of the week!

The funny thing is Annika, my little one is a big time pooper and she poops all over her expen. But if she sleeps with me, she sleeps practically straight and never poops . . . weird huh?!

Mine sleep with me too so I've never tried kenneling. Maybe try moving the kennel closer to you, giving her a safe chew that she can have only in the kennel, or buy some earplugs and hope she gets use to it.

Best would be to give in and let her sleep in your bed. ;) But if that doesn't work for you maybe you can give her a big fluffy toy she can cuddle with. Carry it on your skin for a while so it takes on your scent. Can her kennel be really close to your bed so she can see and hear you and feel your presence? She is probably scared and suffers from separation anxiety. :aimeeyork

I admit it! I too have a family bed - Me, my hubby, Maxx, Evey and Rocco and that's the way it's always been. Nobody has accidents - sometimes we have to make them get up in the morning to go potty if it's real early:p . If you don't mind, a family bed it wonderful, but if you don't, maybe you can bring the kennel up next to your side of the bed and put a cuddly toy in there with her?
